I concur with the above statementThe 4.0L was barely sufficient on the highway in a lifted tj or XJ that weighs 3500lbs. People are on here daily complaining about the power output of the 3.6L... that makes 100hp more than that old tractor motor. Crawling it was great, on road it was underwhelming at best. I'd take the 5.7L for the mojave any day of the week. The way I use the thing high revving in the desert, the diesel just isn't the right engine. The Hurricane could be good, but the complexity is a bit much.
