How is it with 37s and no lift? Does it rub on or offroad? Can’t remember if you posted any pics of it offroad

Our Jeep tour business runs five ‘21 Gladiator Max Tow Sports with the Mopar 2” lifts & 33s. I took advantage of the big discount binge and scored a ‘23 Willys rather than a Mojave or Rubi, primarily because I have a built JK that does the heavy lifting. No mods for the Willys….except for 33s and a TF leveling kit….so far. (I may not be emotionally strong enough to resist the inevitable build!?)

I figured hers takes care of the rocks and hard-core trails so why not get the high speed model (I have had hers up to 90mph in the dirt and it's out of its element)? We take several desert trips a year. Of course larger tires are inevitable, and probably a winch too. Otherwise the stock 2.5s and hydraulic bump stops are just too good to mess with. That's why I went with the aev kit. Should retain what's great about the truck and allow for future 37s and a bit more ground clearance. Even if I tried to build it to keep up with the JLUR, it would just get too extreme with its long wheel base and poor departure angle. I'd bet you'd need 42s and 5" of lift to match the JLUR on 3.5" and 39s. At that point you're looking at Dana 60s and a supercharger just to lug it all around. Hats off to the guys running 7+ rated rock trails in JTs, that's not the purpose of this rig for me. Low enough to be stable at speed but tall enough to not drag ALL the time.

Someone once told me I should put a lift on mine. It has about 4" of lift and 35s.

Small weekend mod. Pulled the skid plate and hit it with some spray can bed liner. Why they put a silver skid on a non-silver truck with black bumpers and orange accents is beyond me. It will likely need touched up after the coming 4 day desert trip but such is the life of a skid plate under one of our rigs.

Well that didn't last long. Lift kit hasn't even shipped yet and thanks to the guys on this forum I ordered a set of kanati mud hogs 37x12.50r17 from Walmart...for $400. Even the wife recognized it would be dumb not to order them at that price. I'll make my money back selling the 33" falkens with less than 1k miles on them. If 100% of the "build" is paid for by selling left over and/or removed parts, that's the same as keeping it stock right? The XR take off KO2s paid for the lift and light bar already. Stock=2" lift and 37s if they were free. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. The 39" mud hogs on her JLUR have been impressive and I paid damn near as much for 1 of those as I just paid for all four 37s.

I gave up trying to justify any spending on my JT. Now I just do it if I want. Looking at some Fox 2.5s with remote res from Accutune. Custom tuned with adjusters. The 4.88s go in on Monday.

Out in the Mojave desert doing Mojave things. Headed to Alabama hills but made a detour to the trona pinnacles on the way.

The factory suspension on this thing is dialed for the desert. Soaks up bumps and ruts at speed. Perfectly balanced to power slide it at 60mph around corners. Even when we got into some rocky trails I was impressed. It's definitely long and low when you're used to wheeling a lifted wrangler. Drug the hitch a couple times and put a nice scrape in the bottom of the rock rail. Fortunately my 37s showed up while we were gone camping so it should be much less of an issue next time. The reward mine was a unique experience, driving a full sized rig a half mile into the earth through solid rock.

Didn't get any picks as it was dark by the time I finished up, but the 2" AEV lift went on this afternoon in about 3.5 hours. Still have to install the procal and straighten the steering wheel but it was time for dinner. The 37s will go on Saturday.

37s going on now. One more reason I prefer the Tazer over this AEV procal, why do I need a wiring harness that the tazer doesn't? As if the clunky equalizer interface and severally limited functions weren't enough, fishing wiring under the center console and adding pins to the OBD port is ridiculous when everyone else offers plug and play functionality.
