Mine does not rattle and has no steering issues.

The only problem is all the pretty girls I have to give rides to. :) I had a 2014 ram sport...was never asked by anyone if they could have a ride.

Mine has minimal nanny state devices. No lane departure or any of that nonsense. I quite like that.

Couldn't agree more. This thing feels like you're actually driving a vehicle. It's not some semi-autonomous thing where you could hear a pin drop in the cabin on the highway. I know that's the wave of the future, but why? So we can work on a laptop on the commute to and from work? Makes me want to puke lol

No joke, a few weeks into ownership, driving around with the doors and roof off, my wife turned to me and said, "I never thought of having a car just for the joy of driving it, and not just getting from point A to point B."

Part of the question is do you need the extra capacity of the Ram? I spent the last 17 years using a F250 as my daily driver, yes the cab is smaller and I can only tow 6500 pounds not 17,000. It's also a lot better at parking in decks, and of course the taking the doors and roof off is huge in the fun factor. I have had my JT since June 7500 miles and I am happy with it.

Have you ever owned a Jeep? If you have then you know what the statement...”It’s a Jeep thing,” means. I will be honest I had a 2002 TJ that I sold and then bought the Gladiator. Neither Jeep is my daily driver and honestly I would likely have a hard time in either of them being my daily driver because there is a total fun factor in a Jeep. It is fun to go topless and doorless, it is fun to do your own mods and maintenance. It is not fun to take the top and doors off for a gorgeous day and then have to put back on because you must go to work the next day in a suit.

But I admit I am lucky that my Jeep can be a toy and can sit in the garage with doors and top off just waiting for the moment I just jump into the thing and go..

All said and done though, if my Gladiator had to be my daily driver it would be tons more satisfying to drive everyday than the TJ was.....and that rattle you might hear...well that’s just a Jeep thing....

How big is your garage?
How many people do you usually have in your vehicle?
Do you like working on and customizing vehicles?
Do you tow more than 5,000lb regularly?
Do you haul big or large objects?
Have you ever had a Wrangler and do you miss it?
Will a sunroof in a truck suffice?
Have you ever drove a full size truck regularly?
Have you ever had a convertible vehicle and did you use it?
Do you tend to buy other things that you "just like" or that are functional?
How has your past cars made you feel? Did you hate the honda civic(Laramie) and love the mustang(Gladiator). LOL

Nice dilemma, I would consider my needs and my wants. If you need a truck with capacity, or truck with limited capacity and a lot of fun. Best wishes with either
choice.

I’m a newbie here. It’s time to trade in my 2012 Honda. Now, I have a deal in a place for a 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie crew cab and for a 2021 Gladiator Overland. Obviously the discounts on the Laramie are MUCH greater so the monthly payments are about the same. I’m torn on the fun of the Jeep - (top down, jeep wave, easier to maneuver, fun to modify, fun vehicle overall, but smaller cabin, more cramped) OR the tank that is the Laramie - (much more space, comfort, ride quality, etc.), but it doesn’t have the “it” factor of Jeeps. Is it true the Gladiator rattles like crazy from all areas? That might drive me a little nuts. It would make sense given you can take it apart pretty much, but that’s the price you pay I guess!

Anyway, anyone have any experience with both and can give me any advice? I’m literally split 50/50 on what to do. Any help would be fantastic. Thanks everyone!
It is a life style like motorcycles. Why do I ride?, either you get it or you don't.

I went from a 2019 Ram to a 2020 Gladiator and can say both of them have their plusses and minuses. The Ram is a little more efficient, more comfortable, and can hold more stuff. The Jeep is more fun, easier to park, will wheel better, and then has the "it" factor not to mention convertible, no doors, etc.

This is obviously a completely personal decision that no one can truly answer but you. With that understood here is my opinion and how the Gladiator fits into my lifestyle. There are 2020 JTs & JLs on the used car lots. I can only image that others have bought them with the romantic idea the Jeep would be the perfect vehicle and bring a new dimension to their lifestyle to only find out it is not practical in some way.

I have a 2018 3500HD Chevy Duramax Crew Cab. Its great on fuel and so comfortable on long trips. It sucks at towing my little fishing boat (cant see it behind the truck) and no good off road.
I am in the fortunate position to own a 2nd vehicle ,(4 kids off the payroll now), I have owned Jeeps 30 our of the last 36 years. This JT is the most amazing Jeep I have ever owned. It is like driving a sports car 4x4. Easy to maneuver around town, easy to back the boat up at the landing, go anywhere off road, fun to build and just a blast to drive......... But long trips down the interstate at 75-80mph it is still a Jeep, You got to drive it. My big truck just floats down the road.

BTW, I am 6ft, 230lb big frame and the JT fits me like a glove very comfortable in the ways mentioned above.

And no rattling, so far.

I literally wish I would have bought the Ram. They gave me one to drive while my Gladiator was in the shop the second time, and I loved it. I have had nothing but problems with my Gladiator. It's getting a new engine right now and has less that 4,000 miles. It's been in the shop 3 times now and has been there for the last 30 days. The dealer washed his hands of the situation and referred me back to Jeep corporate who has been ignoring me for the last 10 days. Seriously, I owned a Dodge 2500 Diesel back in the day and never had a problem with it.

Went from a 2014 Ram Crew Cab to my JT Sport S. Don't miss the Ram at all. The Ram is just another boring truck. It's so much more enjoyable driving the JT. It's unique, plenty of power, easy to maneuver, good gas mileage, and a blast to drive. The kids love it.
