If I haven’t stated it already on this thread, insurance rates also depend on driver age, crash/violation history, geography, and credit history. Users comparing rates is not an apples to apples comparison. It’s mostly pointless.

The big one is credit history, followed by age and tickets.

Crashes, as a factor, depend on cause.

So a 60-yr old guy, with an 850+ credit rating and a spotless crash-history, can easily be rear-ended at the next stop sign by a drunk driver or a DWT housewife (driving while texting).

Being without fault on his part, *most* reputable insurers wouldn't jack his rates just for that one 'accident.'

went from 2007 Jeep Commander at $724 a year to Sport S at $952.
228 more, or $19 more a month.
Triple A, I'm over 50, no accident history. Just dropped my CDL, don't know if they factor that in or not.

Your statement is completely right, How ever The main point of the Post was not how much Insurance cost, It was how much of a difference the company your insured with raised your premium after changing over to the Gladiator the post that included that is useful infomation

Mine was like $3 more a month than our WK2. Two drivers with clean records, 250k/500k limits, State Farm in north Florida.

It is pointless if you live in another state, as each state has different laws that effect insurance. Florida is a No Fault state, makes my premium higher than most. Obviously large city, high crime areas will probably be more than middle of no where Montana.

I live in MASS, 28, no tickets, no crashes.
Paying 941 per year, but I also have a good amount of coverage I probably don’t need. But $100 a year for more coverage, rental and GAP insurance and such is far better odds than scratch tickets or Vegas.

Finally got a VIN, updated it in Progressive...added gap insurance. Brings me to a whooping $299 for 6 months ($49.83/month).

For the record, I'm 42, clean driving record, top-tier credit score and live in VT. Glad I decided to compare rates, as GEICO would have got triple that out of me! Like someone mentioned above, seems like insurance companies just bank on the fact that you're not going to change?

I did the same thing. Online that is. Then called to make sure it was correct. They then quoted me over 1000$ for 6 months.

$354 for 6 months, so $59 a month with State Farm. Actually a few bucks cheaper than wife's 2017 Grand Cherokee Altitude.
I will have to check out State Farm. Any lift on it? Deductible? Coverage?

So I've been calling around. Nationwide is definitely not in your side. No mods to vehicles period! Progressive I've been with them since 2006. Consider them still in the running. Costco insurance....is a no go too. You can only lift your vehicle 3 inches total. Hmmmm let's put a 3 inch lift and leave stock tires. Underwriter must have been an engineer in a cubicle looking at a computer screen saying to the installers the square peg fits in the round hole.
Number one in the running is Traveler's Insurance.
Breakdown of coverage.
All insurances were asked the same questions. Actually increased my custom equipment to 5k so maybe another 10$
I will be calling State Farm soon.
Stats on me.
52 Male, 800+ credit score no accidents in the last 32 years no tickets in the last 11+
Nevada is home. By the way supposedly the third most costly to insure a vechicle.
Love my backyard. Eastern Sierras!
