Hello Onebigyoshi,
We are sorry to hear about your recent rattling noise that you have noticed. If you could please provide us with the model, make, and year of your Jeep I would be happy to take a further look into this from our end.

It's a 2020 Rubicon. It's just a loose seatbelt so not sure if this is fixable. I figured the dealership will just tell me it was made to do just that and nothing they can do about it

Thanks! I'll try that. I am now convinced it is the freedom panel, near the upper bolt for the main hardtop. I have pretty much tried to insert foam pipe insulator into the trim where possible. Also when I take the tops off, the popping goes away.
If that doesn't solve it you might also try using soft-sided Velcro bump stops where the sun visor rests on the rubber feet. The rubber is hard and can cause vibration noise.

Hello Onebigyoshi,
Thank you for touching base with me here. We understand your hesitation in visiting the dealer, however, because our team is not mechanically trained, we do recommend reaching out to them as we are not able to provide any technical assistance. If you do decide to go this route, please know we are available for additional assistance throughout that process.

Get some Sil-Glyde and rub it on the freedom panel weather seals. They pop when the top flexes. Just needs some lube.

Confirmed solution!!! I bought some silicone lubricant spray at Lowes, wiped down the seals thoroughly, and no more popping. Oh man, that was driving me crazy.

I'm assuming this will be another periodic maintenance thing and that is ok.

Nothing beats the Jeep community!

No worries! I used to lube up all the seals on my wrangler every couple months. Becomes routine.

Interesting. I’ve got to try that. My dash is rattling like mad. Not sure when it started, since the panels have been off for a bit. Back on for some coming rain. Sure as hell sounds and feels like the dash.

So not exactly lol. I now believe it is the rear guide pin of the panel rubbing against rubber grommet pin socket. I tried silicone lube and felt, still getting squeaking. I think the pin is pressed so hard against the felt, the felt is now rubbing against the grommet.

What good is that pin for anyway? Can’t I just grind it down and be done with it?

Also, when I unlatch the main latch the squeaking goes away.
