Hello all,
I would like to install an internal (under dash) am/fm antenna. I will be pulling out my dash anyway to install Lasfit aux switches and thought it would be a good time to do the antenna at the same time.

Can anyone recommend one?
Thank you for your time,

Depending on how much money and time maters, one of the changes for the 2024 Wrangler was "windshield-integrated trail-ready stealth antenna" . You could always go that route...

As much as windshields crack on these things, not a good idea, but thank you it is an option.

Someone did this on either this forum or the JL one. They took the antenna off the fender and basically put it back behind the glovebox then covered the antenna hole with a "trail rated" badge. I've been thinking of doing something similar but just removing the antenna all together. I don't listen to terrestrial radio at all so I don't need the antenna.

I would like to do the same. I know the reception won't be as good but for how rarely I listen to the radio, how flat FL is, and how close all the stations I listen to are, I'm willing to give up some range to get that antenna off the fender. And I agree with not liking it in the windshield

I would not recommend inside the dash, not only is it terrible for reception with signals being blocked by metal and wiring, there is probably a lot of radio frequency interference generated by gauges and other electronic stuff.

Do you take the rear top off? You could probably run an extension coaxial cable to the roll bar then hide a wire antenna under the soundproofing on the rear top. The wire would be up against fiberglass and should work fine.

I did not put the antenna under the dash, I ran the antenna cable up the A pillar and put the antenna above the passengers sun visor.
I needed this adapter: Adapter
And use this antenna: Antenna
The reception is OK, but once I get out of town it drops off earlier than the factory antenna sometimes as much as 30 miles earlier.
This Video helped with getting it setup:

Your AM reception will be very poor, nonexistent if you remove the antenna completely.
Keep in mind the Highway Advisory Radio service is mostly AM. Around here it’s used extensively.

Just a thought, but the factory antennas height equals the height our JTs are with the soft top folded open. It makes it easy to know when a drive thru or parking garage is too short.
