As with the wiper controls...
narrow end of the ramp=LONG time delay
BUT some think
narrow end should indicate SHORT time delay
either way I just go by the feedback they show me.

Yes I know, that's how this post was born. I use it all the time but it's backwards to me and I kept downshifing from 3 to 2 instead of upshift to 4 by pushing forward (up to upshift)

Pushing forward should be upshift IMO
If you’ve ever watched Bill “Grumpy “ Jenkins
shift his pro stock car with 4 separate levers,
pulling BACK, he’d probably tell you where you could go if you told him he’d have to shift forward from now on. Just Saying

Think of a manual transmission... 1st is top left, pull back to upshift to 2nd. 3rd is diagonally up, then pull to upshift into 4th.

You can also thing of it as pushing forward thus pushing yourself back to slow down, pull back to pull yourself forward (faster).
The stick shift comparison doesn't really make sense because when shifting through each gear you push and pull no matter if you're shifting up or down

Think drag racing with a full manual valve body, Pulling backwards is easier to upshift under heavy acceleration than pushing forward.
Of course this is the exact opposite of the B&M Quick shifter I have been using in my rock buggy for the past 25 years so it keeps me thrown off. :)

Think of the shifter like this (Lenco)

the brights and wipers feel wrong to me.

But the Money Shift is always towards you, that’s why Mercedes designed the Dog Leg transmission, to put that shift between 2 and 3 for tighter circuits

It's still that muscle memory. I've driven more miles on and off road in a standard transmission than I have in an auto - I was really happy to see pulling back was the upshift with this transmission, it just felt more natural to me.
I'm always shifting the wrong way whenever I borrow a car where up is forward; that was the case for me for years before getting my truck.

Reminds me of when I turned wrenches for a living, had a guy tell me there was something wrong with his prindle thing. Took me a a little bit to realize he had a problem with the shifter on his Powerglide.
Comes from when auto's were 2 speed like a powerglide PRDL column shift indicator was said as "prindle" I've heard it quite a few times from old timers
