I went to Jeep’s website and used the “Build” function. I did not see the Mopar Trailer Brake listed as a factory option even within the “Trailer-Tow Package”. Is this still only available as a dealer add on after purchasing a Gladiator from the factory?

At one point in July, TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL is showing on the Order Guide it was available as option code XHC, but it's not been in the Order Guides from August on. The FWP was $356, MSRP was $395.

What is also interesting is that even in the last Order Guide released in December, the Smokers Group is NA W/XHC... but you can't order an XHC.

It looks like you can buy it here:

I think Benny - allmoparparts.com - has it available again. It's a ton cheaper from him than many other places and contact him directly via PM and see what he'll do for you.

If you have a 2020 built prior to January 2020, you'll need the dealer to perform the TSB and flash the ABS module if you have this installed on an exiting 2020 JT.
On trucks built in 2020 or the 2021 model year no issues or problems - TSB flash not needed.

Dealers are likely getting 1-2 hours for this, my guess.

I installed mine in about an hour. It’s pretty easy if you are marginally handy. But if your buying a gladiator from a dealer, you could easily work that install into the deal.

That would be my take on it - have them include the install.
The controller itself through a dealer is stupid expensive, crazy for a basic 3rd party brake controller with the MOPAR part number.

Yeah and we know it isn’t made of any nice materials than a 3rd party product. I would order and have it ready to give to them for install, when the truck shows up at the dealer.

Had it installed. Works fine. Only problem is it replaces the cigarette plug, which I needed for a backup camera screen. A USB to cigarette adapter is on its way from Amazon.

And if you contact Benny directly, he may give you a free shipping pass............
I don't know what shipping is on moparonlineparts. So I can't say fairly how things compare but either are good parts departments to deal with.
I have bought things from moparonlineparts before but can't recall exactly what.

I just know that you can get a Redarc for about 150 less than MSRP, about 100 less than the discount MOPAR places, and even the Redarc dual-function brake controller is quite a bit cheaper in the end.
