Yes.

Follow up question: has anyone taken a Gladiator to the dealer complaining about poor MPG, and had them fix it?

I wasn't asking if there's a fix. I was simply asking if it was normal. My TJ gets terrible mileage but it's a 4.0. My JK got much better mileage, somewhere in the low 20s. I didn't expect great mileage out of the heavier JT but 13mpg is much less than the reported mileage that Jeep claims. So do you understand why I asked the question?

I did not mean to offend you. Many, many people have posted your same concerns in the forum - so that is why I asked the forum if any of those that have previously mentioned low MPGs - if they had found a solution other than "your mileage may vary".

Carry on.

Takes more than that to offend me. I’ve never bought a Jeep for gas mileage.

My Overland got 19mpg highway @ 80mph, and about 17 city. Now with 1.5 inch lift (rubicon suspension) and 35's, I get 15/17

That’s about where I’m at. My Mojave has 3 total inches of lift and 35s with AEV wheels which are heavier. I’m more like 14/17 city/highway.

OP- I’m right there with you… just turned 1k miles on my ‘21 Mojave as well.

I’m tracking every fill up with the Fuelly app and averaging 13.4 MPG.

Fortunately/unfortunately, my typically drive session is less than 10 miles each turn of the key but that short-range hilly mileage certainly is playing a factor. Also, I’m in Maine and the cold temps and remote start idling time is a big factor. As many have previously posted; our V6 loves to suck gas at idle.

The previous only of my Jeep put on 16k miles in less than a year, and I saw 16.5 MPG on the tracker when I first picked it up. Fully expect these numbers to improve in summer temps.

I drive pretty heavy footed so my mpg was bad to begin with but once I went 37’s and a rack and tent and gear I’m getting 13.0 city on my Mojave

Our driving habits sound very similar. Thanks for the post.

How many miles on it now? If over 8,000 or so, did you notice it creeping up just a bit with more time on the clock?
You already know - SO MANY factors......... my wife could drive your truck and I guarantee she'd get 2 more mpg out of it - unless she's wanting to get home and then you'd be lucky to get 10 mpg HA.

It's stayed about the same but all I've done is add modifications that don't coincide with fuel efficiency. Lol. It has just over 7k now.

Ha, yeah, I get that - maybe your normal gains have been offset then LOL
Steel bumper, heavy skid plate, 400 pound winch (not really but it felt that way lifting it onto the winch plate), A/T tires, I think I know why mine's not as good as it once was. Oh, well. Still beats the other trucks I've had.

I’m curious did you regear? I just put 35s on my Sport S with a Mopar lift. Been debating which gears to go with down the line, still at 3.73 atm
