I’ve got a large German Shepard that’s having issues getting into the backseat of my gladiator since the door doesn’t open very far. This is my first Jeep so I’m not sure what good solutions there are. All help is appreciated

This Dood just puts his paws up on the door sills then I hoist him up. You could probably unlatch one of the door catches on a side and push it into the door, as that should allow the door to swing open just a tad farther.

they'll always act like they can't get in but once they figure it out, it's no problem. My shepherd mix looks like she's always hitting the back of her spine on the bottom of the door but doesn't seem to bother her too much

Try to guide him up physically to show that it’s possible…you know, the ole tap and “up here boy!” and a light tug on the collar.

My Border Collie-Lab mix is 5 years old now and the Jeep is sitting a little higher than before. He doesn’t like jumping into the seat so he has to go to the floor first. It is awkward though for a 60lb dog because of the doorway as mentioned. Probably tougher for a German Shepherd. Just make sure he doesn’t hit his head on the roof if he jumps on the seat.

It’s just not a huge space generally for entry lol. Sometimes I just pick mine up and put him in to avoid all of it…big ass baby lol

I tried to pick him up/ help him but he ended up scratching the paint trying to figure out what was going on. He loaded into my last truck no issues but the door way was way bigger. I saw this pic and want to figure out how to do this with the door if anyone can help out. For reference my dog is 120lbs and 7 years old.

As others have stated, remove the bolt from the door hold-open bracket and push the bracket into the door (see red oval in pic).

We have a 100lb Great Dane that can leap up inside when she knows she’s going to the off lease park. She’ll then run her face off at the park and pretend she can’t leap back in…. I’ll put some food on the platform and she forgets how big of of weeny she is and will leap up there without me having to pick up her big phat a$$ and blow out my back.

Yeah if your GSD is 7 I’d start helping him/her up or do the steps. Our 8yr old Shepard sits at the door and I hoist her 65# butt up. Now our Mal she will probably double roundhouse in mid air and stop then matrix gravitate into the back seat. She’s freakin psycho.
