Here in Florida 4x4 is used 99% of the time to get out of mud or other slick situations(slimy boat ramp etc). Unless I was really intentionally going offroading or knew I obviously needed 4x4, I would always stay in 2wd until I spun enough to need 4x4, then I would stop and shift into 4x4 to pull out. Seems like a pretty big inconvenience to have to be moving with full traction in order to shift into 4x4 (have all tires spinning the same speed). Maybe I am just spoiled because im used to the electronic systems...
