Issues with Bluetooth sound

I am having a service issue and wanted to see if anyone could help me. The issue is related to sounds that enter into phone conversations happening while driving. I had noticed this problem since new and had service look into this when the issue bothered my ability to do my job while driving. Most people would tell me to call back in because of the background noise but this would not correct it. The noise is with both tops and is louder the faster the Jeep is driving.
I have had 2018 JLU that operated very well and did not have this issue so it was a surprise when this JTS had this problem.
I have used several different models of phones and the issue is the same with each one; including the dealer service technician having the same problems. I also have rented Wranglers in my job and have no issues with this noise and call issues. Stellantis is blaming the phone and states the system is up to date. My wife now wants me to trade this in.

Jeep needs to do better with noise cancelation. My 2020 audio out was garbage from day 1. They threw a few parts at it. I swapped mics and it was a little better. I just use the phone by itself.

Agreed and have had the same results. I wonder if I upgrade the system to newer radio? The Jeep Wranglers I rent are much better.

I'm on my second Gladiator, and have had no issues with either one. I have the 8.4 Uconnect and use Samsung phones connected with a USB cable. Bluetooth is for convenience, it is not your friend. The only time I had complaints was at high speeds with the wind blowing.

To the OP, is it different plugged in VS Bluetooth?

The wife has a 21 4xe Rubi with SOT. The built in microphone has always sucked. My 23 Gladiator hardtop with headliner is way better. I just thought it was the SOT. I mostly use a Plantronics Bluetooth headset in and out of the Jeep and even on windy rooftops it works great. I just wish Apple let you assign devices to functions as in phone vs music. It seems to default to the opposite of what I want.

I will need to try that, we mostly use wireless or bluetooth. I will try the wired connection this weekend. We also have switched to AirPods and they work well but when I leave them home it is a major pain!

I feel like the noise it coming from the air rushing over the roof. Better microphones and better noise cancelation would takecare of it. I think even a microphone relocation would help tremendously .

I tried the wired option and no go. It does not seem to be the air over the roof as I can go speaker on the phone and it is fine sounding. Something is up with the U connect. An option is to replace the radio (I thought Jeep was going to do this) or trade out of it! The wife will not drive it anymore.

I just purchased a used '21 Gladiator with only 16,500 miles and my Bluetooth is also horrible. It doesn't matter if I'm sitting idle or driving, the background noise is unbearable. Any suggestions other than those already given on how to remedy this?
