Issues with CarPlay after upgrading to iPhone 17PM and ios 26.1

Hello folks,

So I upgraded to the new iPhone 16PM and it is running 26.1. Since I upgraded my apple carplay does not work consistently. Usb 1 works most of the time, but usb2 (in the center console) will not activate/run Apple Carplay.

I tried hard resetting the phone, I also tried 4 different cables, pulled the radio fuse. Still wont work like it did before.

I also tried using my old phone and low and behold it works?

Have any of you folks run into the same issue?

Sidenote: I have the 7inch factory radio

Sounds like your center console usb2 used to work, but now doesn’t, so not sure if this applies (unless just coincidence) but there were reports of the center console usb being flaky. I wanted to use the center console usb for my wireless CarPlay, but was experiencing may dropped connections. Moved to usb 1 and it’s solid 99% of the time. Found others reporting the center console connector unreliable.

You might try forgetting device Uconnect on your phone and re-pair it.

usb2 still has power as it will still charge my phone.
I also tried forgetting device uconnect to no avail.

If you are running a VPN you may have to change settings.

What happens when you plug your phone in to charge it? Does it go back and forth seamlessly?

I have a wireless charger, but I'll try it and let you know....

Tried it: When you use the cable it will use the wired connection over the Bluetooth. So, if you're using it wired it doesn't connect on the wireless.

A few weeks ago I finally upgraded my old iphone to a 17 promax and I've not had any trouble, but I only use the usb c port on the dash. The new phone is currently on ios 26.0.1.

The usb and usb c on dash work. Some random crashes here and there.
But the usb in the center console (usb2) doesn’t work. It worked for me before I upgraded to the new iphone.

The console USB has always been flakey for me, both wired and wireless. I bought a right/90* USBC cord on amazon and have been using that for about a year. Once in a blue moon carplay won't start up when I plug the phone in, but 99% of the time it works fine. I think it's something with the Jeep radio, but once I restart the phone it boots carplay like normal.

I'd much rather use the Center Console port, but I had problems probably 50% of the time. It's not worth digging in my console so often vs the 90* cable, the door basically stays shut and I wrapped my cord up out of the way.

I did recently update my 16 Pro to the ios 26 and the only change I've noticed is sometimes when I have a song playing through spotify, I check my phone, then lock it and put it back in the cupholder it will make spotify pause and I have to click play on the dash to make it play again.

Upgraded both my phones 15 Pro Max and 16 to 26 and upgrades since and no issues.

Upgraded from XR to Iphone AIR recently and the only problem I have is an intermittent hiccup of audio... XR did it as well though. Tried using BT and I now use corded (lossless Spotify) and it does it on both

I have the 17 Pro in a '21 with the larger screen. It works consistently using the dashboard USB-C plug.
