Dude the self-control is commendable. Although I guess this is coming from a guy that's had a jeep on the brain since ... 2009? I just don't know how much longer I can wait, lol.
I am a cheap bastard. I keep my cars for a long time. 10+ years. My current car is 14 years old. It still looks good, it still drives great. Not changing my wife's or my cars every 3 years has allowed me to buy 2 pieces of real estate that are only going up in value.

It kills me to spend money on a depreciating asset. I have to love it. Or I'm not buying it. I really like the gladiator for all that it can do. I don't love the way it drives. I'm not sure I will enjoy daily driving it. I need to get more time in one and I need to drive the Bronco.

Of course if I prefer the bronco and there is an announcement about abronco pickup, I'll end up waiting for tht. ha. So it may be 3 more years before I'm out of my car.

As a side note, spending 50k on an old Corvette or Porsche is totally different. These cars don't depreciate. So you aren't really spending money. you are more like just parking it. You can get cash out whenever you want.

what kind of quirky build did you go with? That's one of the longest I've heard about.
Overland, with leather, body coloured hard top, trailer tow package, cold weather group, Lmt-slip diff, Bedliner, blind spot monitoring. Nothing special really. There were none available in hydro blue with those specs. I didn’t think that was a crazy build at all.

Its the blind spot monitoring. The superconductor shortage is putting a stop to production on vehicles with any of the parking/monitoring sensors. Got told that when we test drove a Willy's Wrangler for my dad. We asked about building one and the dealer manager said basically anything with the "fancy" electrical is a guarantee that we'd be waiting months.

Interesting. Thanks for that insight. I can wait, but since I have a vehicle with blind spot - I find it a really good feature and it’s hard to lose a feature you already have become used to.
