My JT is my second Jeep. I had a '96 Cherokee Sport for about 12 years. Got it brand new then with the off road package (skid plates and a bigger alternator if I remember well), changed the shocks and put a K&N air filter on and that was the extent of my mods. That thing served me well as a daily driver with kayak and scuba trips and the occasional Jeep Club outing on trails around Quebec City. My JT has already seen more trails and more mods than that Cherokee ever did in the first 8 months... :)

I got mine with the 6MT so my kids could learn on it. I plan on covering up the camera or pulling the fuse on it when they have it. Also I need to figure out how to disable the hill hold start feature - once they know what the hand brake is for and can reverse up hill into a parking space (Think San. Fran driving) then they can have it back to normal... according to my wife I am the mean dad... :CWL:
That is awesome. I really wanted to get the MT, but the towing hit was to much for me.

You are not mean at all. I was planning on at the minimum having them know how to change tires and oil. Plus backing up a trailer. My kids are already dreading learning driving, a lot of these things I came up with due to how little my ex knew and it frustrated me. lol
I like the idea of covering the camera. I also plan on covering the center mirror when mine drive since everybody runs into that senario from time to time.

It depends. Do you consider my old Renegade that I traded in a Jeep? :CWL:

The JT is my first Jeep that I have had. I was brought home from the hospital the day I was born in a soft top CJ7 in a Blizzard so that's probably where the trouble began. I almost had one in high-school but parental veto took care of that. Now I have so many smiles per mile my face hurts!

This is my first Jeep. Got it in March of this year and I’m approaching 4k miles on it. I absolutely love it so far, even more than the Ram 1500 that I had awhile back. It just has so much character, customization potential, adventure ability, etc etc.

If I ever get another Jeep, it will be a TJ or YJ just to have an old classic, manual Jeep. Chances are, I’d go for something like an old Bronco, LC, or Defender. My Glady ain’t going anywhere regardless though...keeping this thing forever, through thick and thin.

My first Jeep, spent the last 27 years in Tacos, even before they were Tacos. When I saw the Gladiator concept come out, I knew it would be my next ride and here she is. ?

Officially i have owned 2 other Jeeps. A '73 and '74 J10. Bought the first rust bucket to fix with my teenage son, and then bought the second one for parts. Ended up selling both shortly afterward as no AC in Texas was a deal-killer.

Have loved the JTR - favorite vehicle so far.

I think you will love it, in my opinion Toyota is going backwards with there trucks, there are known issues with the Tacos and they refuse to fix them even on newer models. Steering being one of them. I had a 93 4x4(the best of the 3 I think) a 2002 extra can 4x4 and a 2012 4 door 4x4. Could not bring myself to buy another. Now the gladiator is going to drive different, but give it some time, you will love it. I only have 2600 miles on mine but still love it. Funny thing is, my Tacos is sitting next door, my neighbor bought it. Confused the dog for the first few weeks. ??

This is my first Jeep. Never grew up around them (grew up around Chevy's), but I like how Jeeps are like the modern "old cars" that you can still work on relatively easily, still can get manual everything, a big community of enthusiasts like this, etc. That and I got tired of my 1wd trucks in Iowa winters.

If the Gladiator wasn't available, I'm pretty sure I would've ended up getting an equivalent config 2dr Wrangler with a small trailer.
