Oh man... that would be tempting! I'm up here in Canada so no such deals like that every surface and a guy has to add 50% to the USD price to get to the CDN dollar price🤦‍♂️😅

My dream continues to be the Gladiator I think the factory should build which is a JT Rubicon/Mojave, no lift, 35" tires, 5.7L, part-time 4x4.

We own a 2024 392 Wrangler, 2020 JT 3.6L Rubicon and a 2022 5.7L non-etorque Ram Rebel... and when I park all 3 side by side... its amazing how similar the Gladiator is under hood compared to the Rebel.

I'm gonna tackle my own 5.7L swap👍👍🤞🤞
Awesome news. You have to admire people willing to do their own work, especially something as involved as a Hemi swap. Hat's off to ya!

They actually have a kit up now, still wind up at like 12k out the door.

So prices are improving at least.

JT/JL 5.7L Hemi Swap Kit – Jeep Speed Shop
So - if I keep my truck until pay off (two years exactly from now) and decide to keep it and then trade in my car and get another new truck/SUV to daily drive...

A DIY Hemi JT kit might be right up my alley by that time 🤔

I imagine competition will increase as well, prices will come down, etc etc, more Rams get taken off the road in accidents.

I've always figured AMW wouldn't remain the only game in town forever lol.

True but they’re makin hay while the sun is shining and that can only be good for us. The more funds they produce the more innovative products they can develop and hopefully the more well equipped we can make our trucks. I’ve been keeping an eye on them for a while now to see what they come out with.

Agree. But it doesn't seem like they're hurting for business so...

I had this conversation with the owner of Joe's Jeep Jungle around the time JSS originally announced the kits. He brought up a very good point: JSS has been in the game for a very long time and builds a great product but AMW's kit is absolutely, totally complete and better than OEM quality whereas JSS products are more for the project builder or smaller shop.

He's done both and the big difference he found with AMW is there's far less fabrication, unknown variables and faster install time because they thought of everything. According to him with JSS you traditionally would get the major components aside from the drivetrain but there would also be a shopping list for your local dealer and NAPA.

I'm sure the guy installing the kit for labor wants the easiest time he can get, when you're the one paying anyway lol.

I want the most affordable kit I can get, and idc if it takes me 8 weeks to do the job, I don't have anything better to do anyway.

This makes sense.

AMW is practically a manufacturing line now, and it needs to be dialed and every part needs to be perfect so you can turn the vehicles around and not waste time. That's how you keep lead times and cost repeatable. Nevermind the reputation to uphold.

The JSS route doesn't bother me if the important parts are supplied. I can't fab correct motor mounts and I don't want to deal with getting the harness correct (I could - I don't want to) - but hunting some odd and end brackets, hoses, fixtures and subbing out the exhaust to a local shop is fine for me.

I'm also fine re-using a pulled Hemi and trans from a wrecked truck - and I know some folks on here gasp at that thought.

Wouldn't be the first motor swap I've done putting an engine where it didn't come from.

Not that I'm in a position to do either of these options right now 😂

100% and its still a month lead time easily for him to get one done depending on how pants on head crazy you want to get.

Me, on the other hand... I've torn down motors and like @ChrisNLA said before stuffed them in places they didn't belong but I'm not sure I'm willing to go down the DIY road on something as complicated as these are.

I would be okay with a wrecked donor Hemi, too. I just don't have the time and frankly skills to do it myself and frankly, my fab skills suck.

I 100% think right now that a JSS kit is the fine line where I would be exactly ass deep in the swap and be like 'Why did I do this' and FITFO to get it over the line.

That's how I learned everything in life though. Jump in head first and then realize I only know 60% of what I need to know 😂

Point is kinda moot for me where I am anyway but maybe I’ll relocate one day and be able to get the engine I want in the Jeep that I waited a long damned time to get.

I have a 4runner with a Mercedes diesel lol, swapping engines isn't a challenge to me.

If I was paying for labor and didn't mind the cost, I'd for sure just drop it off with AMW.

I, don't even care about mounts and adapters, it's really just the CAN wiring and programing I'm after.

ChrisNLA: I know the cost is high! I can say though it is SUPER fun to drive. I been a Challenger the other day!! Acceleration is great.

They have a CARB legal kit also, I believe they are CA based.
They do but the 100m hurdle race of getting it through a referee is a complex goat rope. If they’ve never seen it before they are more likely to put the big red “X” on your submission. Yes there are guidelines and rules and regs for all of it but if it look like an alien most people are gonna shoot it. I’d really like to do something along the lines of that Mercedes Diesel you mentioned above. Small scale turbo diesel that has enough power to move it but not enough to drink a tank in an hour. Feed it the 8 gears and that would be one heck of a machine.
