Sorry to read of your lousy experience with this dealership. I had a good experience with Ourisman Chrysler, Jeep, & Dodge here in Alexandria, VA. But I have experienced somewhat similar situations with other dealerships in the past. It really is a Shell Game sometimes the way some dealerships behave. A 3.8 out of 5 rating for this dealership would be a big red flag to me. Maybe threaten to submit your post above as their Google Review. Maybe even threaten to take your story to the local media and hand it off to an Investigative Journalist/Reporter. I've used that tactic in the past to some success. Anyway, sorry you had a bad experience and I hope everyone else's sympathies and suggestions are of help.

Its about separating you and your money, and you signing everything they put in front of you, maybe you haven't heard the term " always read the fine print"

and you used the buzz word "Transparency" do you really think this would actually happen with a service that's trying to get your money ???

I would find a different dealer, or contacted a lawyer on the 2nd day,

Great, another only joined to pump and dump rant for what seems like a used vehicle purchase. Always seems to be the ones the use the term "car" or am I just being a cynic?

This is not a Jeep corporate problem.

noun
1. a person or company that makes or supplies theatrical or fancy-dress costumes.
  1. "a theatrical costumer"

It's buyer beware at any auto d(st)ealership more now than ever. Our experience was nothing more or less than I expected, but we ran into the biggest lying hack con that I've ever seen, and I was in the business. My wife, at the captive finance level for30+ years.

We got to the point we wrote the check, got the keys and went home. That dealer, probably any, likely won't ever see us again. Warranty? Their motivation is to boot that as far down the road as they can, if they can't con you into some con that boils down to the customer conveying cash into their hands with little to nothing in return (basic service etc.)

They're more interested in "selling" things that are 99% clear profit, rather than running a business. I think if we weren't in the position to buy and walk away, I'd never buy a new vehicle again.

My advice would be, go to a dealer to purchase the vehicle, only the vehicle. Have your own prearranged financing (if you're not buying outright) before you shop for the vehicle. Have everything ready to go. Ignore their scam-like con crap and focus on the vehicle. All the finance, even specials, is putting money into the dealers hands and even more with all the other krap. :)

I do just that. I already have pre approved financing when I go. I won't play their games.

When I bought this Gladiator, I contacted the dealer to make sure they still had it and confirmed the price. Had them email me the price so I had it in writing. I was driving 4 hours and told them.

Got to the dealer and the truck was there and we agreed on the price, which was what they quoted. They tried to pull the dealer financing crap which happened to be with the bank I was pre approved with. The rate they claimed to have gotten for me was .5% higher than the rate quoted. I said no and showed them the quote, they said that's what they got. OK, we will address this later when I pick it up as there were some things I found on inspection what I wanted fixed (it was a Certified preowned Gladiator). I put a deposit on it and went home to await their paint and dent guy to fix what I found.

Went back the next week to pick it up and had the approval paperwork with me. They printed up the contract with "their" rate. I looked it over and said, the rate needs to change, this is an approval letter from your preferred bank with the rate I told you about a week ago. Change the contract or I walk. I also told them that I didn't want any "warranty", no GAP, no nothing except the vehicle. The Gladiator was worth more than the financed amount so GAP wasn't necessary. I did tell them I would consider purchasing the Mopar MaxCare warranty but they claimed that only the parts dept could sell that, sales could only sell the Zurich warranty and the parts dept was closed. Yeah, I don't think so. They made much more on the Zurich warranty than the Mopar one which is why that song and dance. However, their shortsightedness cost them any additional profit they may have made.

In the end, they reprinted the contract for my rate and no add on's for either the vehicle or their extra profit. I read the contract, reinspected the vehicle and signed the contract (after I had them fill the tank with gas).

Checkered Flag in Newport News. It wasn't a horrible buying experience but they quickly learned that I would have driven 4 hours home without the Gladiator if they kept up the BS. Walked out the door at $47K for a very lightly used, almost fully loaded Rubicon in Snazzberry in July of 2023.

I know they made money on the sale and I'm OK with them making some money, I'm not OK with with them making obscene amounts of my hard earned money though.

I bought a Gladiator at this dealership and I’m having the worst experience ever.
Here’s my story:
It’s really shocking that jeep keeps a dealership that disrespect and try to deceive costumers like this one.

Bought a 2021 Gladiator at this dealership for 32.998,00 , on the second day the car stopped working.

Luckily I bought it with extended warranty.

On the second day, due to the problem I told them I wanted to return the car. And here is the first lie they told me that to return the car I would need to still pay the taxes they paid for my car sale and the registration fees (something around 3000 dolars).

Later I discovered this is a lie, because in the state of California when you return a car to a store or dealership, they will have the taxes and fees back to then.

To don’t loose the 3000 dolars (that they made me believe I would need to still pay after returning the car) I accepted to have the car fixed.

They fixed the car, and on the same day I picked up the car, it was showing the same problem.

Again, I returned the car to then, told then I wanted to return the car again, they said I couldn’t, that for returning the car I’d need to pay the 3000, Bla Bla Bla, and offered me to choose a different car if their cars in case I wanted to swap the cars, making me believe that in this exchange I was not going a have any cost in case I chose a car that’s similar price.

Meanwhile they fixed the car again. And again in the same day the car showed the same problem.

And now I called then saying I really just wanted to return the car and/or change for another one.

After that I chose a car they had that was marketed with the same price I paid in my car (this was 20 days after I bought the car.

Then, I sent then the model I chose (my main criteria was a car with the same price, because I didn’t want to have any extra expense, I just wanted a car that worked).

So I chose a car that was marketed for 32998,00.

So I went to their store having in mind we were going a do a car exchange without any extra cost due to the reasons below:

1 - that’s what the sales manager made me believe.

2 - I chose a car that was the same price as my car, that I bought 20 days before.

3 - I was exchanging the car just because they sold me a car that doesn’t work (the car turns on only when he wants to).

4 - the car I bought 20 days prior to this started having issues on the second day, and I was trying to return this car since the second day.

Great, for my surprise when I got at the dealership instead of just exchanging the cars, they wanted me to pay around 6000 dolars to make this exchange.

the exchange was going a cost 4500 USD, but i was going a receive a 2500 check from the extended warranty i had bought in the first purchase, so it was going a cost me 2.000 usd.

and for this money he was going a exchange the cars, and give me a full warranty on the new car for 5 years or 24.000 miles.

Was it fair? No. Was it right? No. It was crazy to pay $2,000 to correct their mistake. But I just wanted to solve the problem, so I decided to pay the $2,000 and be done with it.

The next day, I went back to exchange the car. When I read the contract, I realized they were trying to charge me the warranty they said was free and the tax and registration fees again, totaling $6,800 in extras!

They tried to hide these costs, never mentioning them. The day before, they said the transaction would add around $100 to the monthly payment. After negotiating, they said they’d check the value again and give me a lower monthly payment.

Today, they showed me a monthly payment that was $120 more than what I pay now. I thought it was weird because the difference should be only around $60 or less monthly. But I thought, no problem, what matters is the amount we’re financing because I plan to finish all the payments in 3 or 4 months.

When I read the contract, I finally understood everything: the monthly payment was $120 extra because they were charging me the warranty ($3,900) and the sales tax irregularly and without mentioning, hoping I wouldn’t notice it because the difference on the payment was only $20 more than the value they showed me the day before.

So basically, after lying about the tax and fees not being refundable, forcing me to stay with the car, and after trying to charge me 6000 usd to fix their mistake, and after agreeing on charging me only 2000 dolars to change the cars, they tried in the most sketchy way possible to charge me 6.800 without telling me, by my back.

I am disappointed and shocked by the lack of honesty and transparency with which they treat their customers, they lied and tried to cheat blatantly.
Car ????

Even my 8 year old grand daughter knows a Jeep is a Jeep and not a car. It's either Grammy's Jeep or Pop Pop's Jeep.

I'll let her get away with calling daddy's Grand Cherokee a car.
