I haven't noticed one way or another, and i have noticed both male and female waiving to me. If anything, I'm the one that sometimes forget!

Slightly off topic, this is my first jeep, and when i got it, the wave was the FIRST thing all my Jeep buddy's told me about. No tips or tricks, or how to store the hard top, changing the gears, etc. Nope..The Wave! LOL . And I noticed it right away from everyone! It's cool!

I don't see a lot of Jeeps on my way to/from work, but I wave at all of them. The most waves I get back are from the Renegades and the Compass/Cherokee/GC levels. I've had 2 wranglers wave. One was a girl in a silver Wranger with blue all over it. And one was a mall crawler black one with a guy driving. The rest of everyone gives me weird looks. I have yet to meet another JT on the road, there is one in town where I live but I've only see it out of the garage once and it was at the bowling alley 2 streets down from the house. Their is an LE and they've given me some looks as I've driven by their house when they were outside. - and not admiration looks either. :CWL:

I've gotten the most waves from men driving Chevy/Ram/Ford trucks than I have Jeep owners. lol!

I’ve had a Jeep since 2003 when I started driving and had my CJ and have always waved at other Jeeps on the road whenever I can.

What I have never understood is the drama (and elitism) that surrounds the Jeep Wave. If someone doesn’t wave they either A) don’t know about it, B) don’t care, or C) don’t notice the other Jeep. It’s not a personal affront to not get waved back to - some people are Jeepers and some people simply drive a Jeep.

Now if other Jeep drivers are flipping the bird your way for no reason then you might want to carry some eggs in your ride to fix their attitude.

Very few women get a wrangler for its real purpose. Most get it to be cool with a colored top as a mall crawler. No clue why you are waving. My ole lady makes me take the top and doors off hers at the first hint of summer! But her jeep wave is mostly the middle finger to slow drivers!!!!

Kinda like a Harley bike wave to a Honda Goldwing.... Just confuses em!

And how many men get Jeeps for their "real" purpose (which is what... going offroad)? By that definition, the vast majority of men with Jeeps that are lifted and have massive tires and winches and steel bumpers are doing the equivalent of your "woman with a mall crawler" example. Half the guys with these rigs rarely if ever use that stuff, but it sure looks cool!

For what it's worth, my wife had a Jeep--and did the Jeep wave--years before I ever did.

I thought that at first but find I don't get wave backs from men or women...maybe it is me :). I just stopped riding hence the new toy and yes Motorcycle riders are more committed and probably easier to see.

In the end I will keep waving!!!

Women are busier than us, they're not looking for other Jeeps.
WRONG..... some of us are ALWAYS looking at other Jeeps! :jk:

Since taking delivery of our JT I have noticed an assortment of wave/not wave. It does seem that the modified Jeeps always wave. Stock Jeeps driven by Soccer Moms have rarely waved.

We had a CJ7 in the early 90s and at that time all Jeeps seemed to wave. I think in order to drive a CJ you pretty much had to be a 'Jeep person'. (no a/c, flapping tops......) I think the 'refinement' of the new Jeeps has drawn in a segment of people who just dont get the culture of the Jeep thing...? (non wavers)

We always waved on our motorcycles and we always wave at Jeeps too. I hate it when I'm deep in thought and miss one!

You kind of summed up my Jeep/motorcycle wave life story.

I'm going to but the discussion of the jeep wave in the category of things never to discuss, like religion and politics....

This has really been great. I had no idea what kind of response or trend I would get from everyone.

It's a "Jeep Thing" of course, and many don't get it. There are tons of Jeeps out here in CO, and I've noticed that those who don't wave tend to be driving non-modified Jeeps for the most part, men and women both. I'll wave first to any modded Jeep since my JK is also, and usually just respond to everyone else. It will be interesting to see what the reaction is once my JT Rubicon is delivered, since I'm only doing a leveling kit and 35's up front.
