If, like me, you run down corrugated trails and your KC Hilites bracket rattles against your frame or windshield and it drives you nuts, and you have a 3D printer, this is the fix for you. Stop jamming cardboard between the bracket and the windshield. You can download my bracket bumper from MakerWorld.

The only thing that may make this difficult for some is that this is printed in TPU. I use TPU95-HF from either Bambu Labs or QidiTech. I find the QidiTech prints better by a little. Either way...

The triangle piece is pressed into the bracket hole and the pad sits between the bracket and the windshield. You won't lose it.

That's impressive! I get most of my laser etching/cutting files from MakerWorld.

wouldnt a strip of adhesive rubber be an easier fix?

Yes, it would be, but I found that in the heat of the desert (where I live) the adhesive gets soft and the rubber pad slowly works itself out. That frustration is what finally led me this design that won't work itself out.

so, this is what they mean when they say that necessity is the mother of invention.

So is that printed with PLA or PLA+ filiment? I ask because I understand that they tend to become brittle over time in sunlight? If this is false then I would love to know. Thanks.

I do not use PLA or any variation. As far as I'm concerned PLA doesn't belong anywhere near a Jeep. It loses color and shape in the sun and heat. I print these bumpers in TPU95 HF. It's a soft material that won't beat on the Jeep.
