My original plan for my Diesel Rubicon was to pull an off-road adventure trailer of some sort (ideally and Off-Grid Pando). But I’ve been toying with a camper (AT Atlas or Habitat), or Shell/RTT combo so I can stay more nimble.
I’m concerned about the cost/length of the trailer idea. But I also worry that a camper, a winch, and a refrigerator might bring us to the point where we would have to go without some essentials, or a leave couple of teenagers at home.
Has anyone built a JTR Diesel out with one of these campers, onboard water & a dual battery setup? How much payload would I have for actual bodies, other camping gear, & extra fuel?

After that weighing experience I made a spreadsheet and swapped to all aluminum everything (except sliders) and started removing anything I could to save weight. Rubi bars, brackets, etc. Also swapping wheels around soon.

I highly recommend a spreadsheet, you can get weights for almost every part out there and do your own math.
