So I was going through the site today and poking around. I didn’t realize the Lasfit Aux switches came as 4x40A switches. Mopar is 2x40A and 2x15A. Is there any real benefit to going with the higher amperage switches over the lower? I’d think the Mopar is a little more of a safety margin but it’s also limiting on what you can hook up to them. What is the general thinking on this?

No benefit unless you need the amperage.
Pretty much.

Outside of a switch relayed winch and a possible DC>DC charger for a house battery, there's not much I can think of that would necessitate that much juice.

But if learned anything from Must See TV, there's no such thing as too much power.

Not sure Tim is the best example of this, everytime he wants more power something starts on fire...

Ok thanks all. Not sure I’m going this route but wanted to know. Already have the Mopar switches but may be going away from them with something different. Exploring options for switch panels that look fairly factory

If you already have the factory switches and you just need to support higher amp accessories, relays are the way to go. You can run a winch off of the upfitter switches if you use the correct relay. That will let you keep the factory integration.

Lasfit, if you do not have OEM, is less expensive than purchase of the Mopar kit. I will be going Lasfit soon on the '23. '21 has the OEM switches.

Throwing this one out there:

Type S Lynx 6 or 8. They're priced in the range of the Auxbeam and Horrible Fright switches and is the cheapest I've seen with CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

There's no online specs I can find showing ratings for the circuits but if you're just running LED lighting it should be fine, otherwise throw a relay in the mix for a higher draw.

I’d never seen that brand before. The CarPlay features are pretty cool, in theory. They still give me pause though. I really don’t trust tech that much. If I can push a button and it doesn’t work I can probably fix it. If I tap a screen and nothing happens I look at it like it’s a football bat.

I have their mini air duster/vac in the Jeep, snagged it for $40 at Costco and use it daily. I think their stuff is sold in Walmart primarily.

I assume whatever app is used to control the lights can be used to turn them on and off remotely while camping. Like I need to light up the area with my floods and am too lazy/drunk to walk to the truck.

Ultimately the Voswitch JL500 is my favorite of all the panels but I don't want to have to relocate my factory inverter switch.

That one is pretty awesome. It’s my first choice followed by the 120. I may just zip tie the inverter switch somewhere up under the dash where it won’t get bumped. I don’t see myself using the plug in the bed for anything. Any lighting will be 12V and camp cooking is probably going to be 800w or more. That’s really all I can see using 120 for. Was thinking the 120 for main lighting and signal to winch compressor and maybe the 500 or the little 4 switch on the grab handle cover insert for ditch lights with backlighting to 1 circuit. May be redoing my fogs as well so run the backlights from those to the smaller switch panel. All these ideas keep running through my head. :CWL:

Not a bad point. I don't really foresee using it with the power pack in play. Thanks.

Thats the problem when you have ADHD and a Jeep. There's always something you can do to them.

The other day I had nearly convinced myself I needed limb risers. Before that I came perilously close to spending almost more than my first car cost on just 4 lights. There's no telling what tomorrow's obsession will be but the magic eight ball says the outlook isn't good.

Yeah I can’t fault you for the light thing. I just found the light bars that will be going on my Jeep. 1 of em are going to cost as much as a double fog light setup and ditch lights together. And maybe the switch included. :surprised: :CWL:
