Mine just went to D1 but most of the options are gone now and they were all there when it was on confirmed order status. Has this happened to anyone else before?

I'm still waiting on pricing from the dealership too. I placed my order for a Rubicon X the day after the auto show. Dealer said they would call as soon as that's up. It can't change that much from last year. Has to be because of the strikes. Is what it is.

Can someone explain to me how the orders are open but pricing has still not been released? So if I were to ask a dealer to order a Black Rubicon X, they would just order me one and provide me with a VON... not knowing my financial circumstances or ability to pay for one?

I don't understand this. This is my first time factory ordering so I'm not sure how this works.

The deal does not gel together until it is time to pickup your vehicle and then arrange the details of how everything is going to be paid. You can have a 400 points range credit score and the dealership will still take your deposit because your deposit is free money to them until your order arrives and in some case, not necessarily refundable. While not ideal to a dealership, if you flake, your order is the collateral that can be sold by them to recoup the cost.

Basically, dealerships expect people placing orders and putting a deposit down to know and have their shit together to be able to secure the money or financing to be buying what they ordering.

It's basically a placeholder. I ordered a 2022 JTR in 21 and the dealership took down my order with all the options. I had an idea of the cost since a 21 and 22 are exactly the same. Once the pricing is released they called me to finalize and then the order is out into the production queue. My dealership didn't need a deposit but this new one I am working with does.

Without pricing your vehicle is going nowhere. But "ordering" one now puts you inline at the dealership of your choice essentially.

I’m hoping it can’t change that much. I’m waiting to pull the trigger until they release the prices. I’m assuming it won’t be released until the strike is over and they can figure how much of the cost they will pass to us, the consumers.

for the wrangler, it took about 2 weeks for them to release pricing on the 24 model after the unveiling. It’s been exactly a month since they unveiled the 24 gladiator and still no pricing.

Thanks. That was the part I was missing. I didn't realize that they require a deposit to be put down. That makes more sense.

Hold on. Another thing I need explained. I just spoke with a dealer earlier this week and found that the Gladiator does NOT have the same 1 to 1 package inclusions as the Wrangler trims. That is... the sound deadening doesn't even exist on any of the Gladiator trims. The acoustic glass, carpeting, and any other sound deadening isn't even an option on the 24 Gladiators. But the salesperson told me that "If they start doing it (which they very well may) we can then order it but as of now you can't obtain that on a Jeep build if you were to order one today."

Now my question is... how? How can Jeep come out with a refreshed vehicle, take deposits for said vehicle... but yet we don't know the pricing and we don't even know everything that's included in the trim? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. When is this sh*t gonna get figured out and released to the public? I feel this was a slight bait and switch asthe Gladiator received the same trim names and updates as the Wrangler. Or so I thought. I don't know what else isn't included on the 24 Gladiator. I haven't gone through the ordering guide with a fine tooth comb yet. But this is annoying.

Taking preorders and deposits on a vehicle with incomplete specs and pricing info is nothing unique. They are not forcing people to do it.

Yeah I mean... I guess I've just never factory ordered something brand new like this. Only ever purchased new off the lot from a dealer. It just blows my mind a bit that the specs wouldn't have been decided prior to the reveal. Especially given how long it's taken.

I don’t see the harm in pricing them at release and then changing it, if needed, after the strike. They change the pricing several times throughout the model year anyways.

It would be great if they could let us build one online so we can see how the options show up on a build, etc.

When will the 2024 build configurator be up on Jeep.com?
