Does anyone know the darkness of the rear door window tint on the LE’s?? I was wanting to tint the front windows to match the rear but our state law says rear windows must let in 20% light and front windows must let in 35% light…Are the rear windows darker than 35% Thanks

Most window tint places will match the front window tint to the same as the rear they don’t care you will be the one that has to pay the ticket if you get stopped and yes the rear tint is darker than 35% or it has been on the other trucks I have done in the past

???
Really?

Most shops will tint the windows to what ever you tell them, not what they think it should be unless you tell them to do what they want..

I’ve always had my side windows tinted to match the rear ones and yes it is darker than allowed by law but have never been hassled.
I believe that the tint may been 20% so you will just have to decide if you want to live on the edge...

Yes window tint places will tint the windows how you want them done the shop I deal with will let me know up front the legal tint and the not legal tint and the tint law goes along with how the cop or state patrol is feeling that day if they have had a bad day they may say hey that window tint sure looks dark and pull out there tint checker

The FMVSS regulation allows 30% for rear and rear side glass.

My state allows tinting of the front side glass to match but your tint is checked during annual inspection and you can fail. LEO also now carry the portable meter and it’s a primary offense which means they can pull you for tint alone and make a bad day worse until removed.

Check you state here

To answer your question, I had my front windows tinted on my Gladiator Rubicon and my installer asked "Do you want me to match the same % as your factory rear tint?" and I replied "Yes." He followed up with "OK, I'll be doing the front windows in 20%."

VT is also a state that says you can't tint your front windows. The local tint shop will only take cash to tint your front windows 'for show purposes only'. I've never been pulled over for tinted windowns in this state in my last 15 years of residency and owning 5 vehicles with all windowns tinted. Your state may be different when it comes to upholding tint laws but we're pretty lax here ;)

I'm going to have the very back window blacked out on mine but the rear in NC can be blacked out as well. They only allow 35% in the front but I got 5% all around on my mustang and have never been hassled. Just if it's part of the inspection in your state you will have to find you a shop that will look past it. Luckily I have a guy I've been using for 25yrs

Tinting to 18%-20% is typically about as dark as you want to go. You can usually get away without being hassled over it by cops. I like to keep it around 20% on my vehicles.

The rear windows don't have a tint law here in Alabama, but the front windows are somewhere around 35%, and windshields cannot be tinted at all, unless you have a medical condition that requires it, if I remember correctly. Every state is different. Check your local laws before doing anything.

I think my Cadenza was full 35% all around, back window was a bit darker, full roof was darker, and had a full windshield at 50% ;) the windshield was hard to tell and I'm getting a full 50 on my Gladiator too. I'll see how the front looks with 35-20.

I went 5% on top of the factory tint in the rear and 5% in the front. I live in Los Angeles (where any tint in the front is illegal) and I’ve never had an issue with any of my cars unless driving recklessly.

lol "LE tint" . LE's aren't special.

Anyway...its just darker. There is no UV or radiant protection in the stock tint. I went ceramic all around, including the windshield.
