Update on my leaking RR axle, Jeep Dealership replaced the right axle shaft under warranty, of course only the leaking one and not both rear shafts. I guess I will be checking all axles for leaking monthly now.

One the plus side it took them, it took them only 8h from dropping the Jeep at the dealership until I was able to pickup.

Only the right one on these leaks when there's an axle leak in the 2021 models.
Why would they replace both? The left one has never leaked in the ones I've observed people post about axle leaks. Always right. (and you don't fix what isn't broken?)

So the dealership did exactly right/correct. Replace the one that is known to leak as the left one doesn't leak.
That again points to an axle or housing specific cause otherwise BOTH sides should leak if it's not related to the axle shaft or the housing or the seal itself.

No axle leak for us but wanted to add some perspective for those waiting 2 or 3 weeks -
I called for an appointment today to get my JT in for front shocks (maybe rears, too - really bouncy) and a clunk when the body twists.
August 21st
I said I also want a consecutive appointment so I could drive our Wrangler out when the JT was done and leave the Wrangler instead of a lot of back and forth on multiple days.

Yeah, this is the 18th, can't get in until the 21st and the Wrangler on the 23rd and that's just to get them LOOKED at. Over a month just to be seen,

Oh man. I hope my dealer doesn’t take that long. They said that they could have the part in a day so I’m hopeful. They’ve got a lot of open time slots on their online calendar too which is nice (but rare these days).

We shall see.

Update on my right rear leak:
The axle is no longer leaking after removing the restrictive membrane on axle vent.
Update #2. To my dismay, it is leaking again!

I have it booked in for the ZE2 tailgate recall and will start the warranty process on the passenger rear axle seal leak.

Will be interesting to see if they replace the whole right axle assy (shaft, bearing, seal, retainer) or the whole shooting match like some have done.
By now I'd sure hope they have finally figured out the cause and have a set procedure down for such instances.

I've been watching mine like a hawk - especially since it takes literally a month to get in these days and I have an appointment for the 21st - if I see a trace, I'll make sure they at least get the parts on hand but so far, dry as can be.

I just found this thread, I was installing my lift and found the passenger rear was CAKED with grease all over the shield and the rotor and the brake pad was COMPLETELY caked as well. I've owned it officially a year now and it was the first time I took the wheels off. Thankfully i'm only at 37K and the dealership was able to get parts overnight and had it done by the end of the second day at the garage.

2021 model year, I see.
I have found nothing about 2020s having this issue, and if there's any 2022s with the leak, they are rare. 2021 seems to be the model year where people need to keep a close watch - it's not always obvious (as you know already)

One thing I got out of this is now I know what my truck's actual birthday is...

So this means they realized there's a specific issue, and a fix and they've narrowed the problem down enough they can pick out a range of dates/VINs??

Maybe but their mileage guidance is incorrect. Many leaks developed in the first 5000 miles. If I had waited until 10000 miles to take care of mine I’m certain I would’ve had a safety issue given the fluid leaking on to the brakes.

At least it wouldn't be as bad as HP lube getting to the brakes of a pre-4 wheel ABS vehicle.
These would detect speed differences and act accordingly. The first bit of lube on brakes renders them sticky - they'll lock. Then they get slippery.

Just came to post the letter, but looks like @FrankFrqnkFrank beat me to it. (Although, I'll post mine too in case he wants to delete his with his name and home address showing thru)

That reminds me that I try to remember to check mine when rotating tires and doing oil changes, but I forgot last time. Raining now, but I will have to try and check after it dries out.
