Leaking Green Fluid on Passenger Shock Mount

Hey y'all, would appreciate some help diagnosing a problem here. I noticed some fluid leaking from the front passenger shock mount on my '23 Rubi. I caught it a few weeks ago and initially thought it was shock oil. Took it to the dealer, they couldn't repro.

Then got a better look at it today and noticed it's neon greenish. See pics. Not sure exactly what it is. Coolant looks good (if a tad low), power steering looks good, doesn't look like oil.

I suspect may be A/C fluid but not sure. I live in TX and temps are varied this month, but has been warm enough to run A/C recently. I've noticed the fluid isn't there when it's cold, which happens to coincide with not running A/C.

Any tips/thoughts/suggestions are appreciated.

I'd guess shock oil, coolant will be purple, refrigerant for the AC will evaporate.
There is a slight amount of oil in the refrigerant but I've never seen it running enough to drip like that.

Definitely has a slippery feel, like oil. Didn’t smell like anything to me. Asked the wife and she says it has a “latex” smell. Either way scent is not strong.

Factory does install a leak detection fluid in the AC. It would have to be a serious leak to see it dripping. Does the AC blow cold

The shocks are crap.Get flash light and look up the black skirtand see if the fluid is coming from the top of the shock.Ive had two go bad in less than 10000 miles.One I warrantied the other I didn't bother.

Yep, AC blows cold and works fine.

Yeah starting to sound like it is the shock. I just didn't expect the oil to look green. I haven't looked at the top, I'll try and get a better look/pic today.

Your coolant is purple?!

I seem to remember it being purple when it was new and fresh.
It's diluted now, it was topped up with after market generic coolant by the body shop that repaired it after I hit a deer last Aug.

It's definitely not the green that the OP posted a pic of, that looks like the old green antifreeze from the '90's and before.

Just a suggestion. Even if it's a shop, always pay attention and ask questions about what's being done to your jeep (or anything). You have to use specific coolant for newer vehicles. Not saying the shop didn't use the right kind. But, we have 5 chrysler vehicles and all of the ones after 2017 require OAT coolant and is orange.

The coolant used meets spec but it doesn't look factory.

I was pissed when I got the truck back, and let the insurance company know about.
I was also dealing with medical issues at the time and not up for the fight.

If I knew before hand what was being done I'd have argued with them.
This is why I do all my own mechanical work, I don't trust anybody to do work to my satisfaction.

You can't rely on the colour of the coolant to indicate whether it's correct or not since there is no accepted standard for it. Different manufacturers use different colours for what would otherwise be the same or compatible coolants. Always check the bottle to ensure you have the right stuff.

As for the OP, if the greenish oily fluid is found nowhere other than at the bottom of that one shock, the only thing that would make sense is the shock is leaking and needs to be replaced.

Mines orange, I wonder if they changed it at some point

Thanks everyone for all the input. And yah, the fluid I'm seeing is only at the base of that one shock. I managed to get a video of the issue, though I haven't gotten a camera up near the top of the shock. But at this point I'm 90% sure the shock is the source.

I scheduled time with my dealer to take it in next week. Will update once I know more.

I have the same issue, 2023 rubicon, except on both shocks. Ride doesn’t feel compromised, but will probably look to switch those out pretty soon.
