I was reading reviews on Amazon for Sealite replacement bulbs (H13 SV.4). One of the options you can pick from the reviews was oncoming drivers. There were quite a few reviews saying they were getting flashed as if they had high beams on. One driver actually got ticketed For headlights out of adjustment.
Im wondering if others have had this problem? Is it just an alignment issue?
Thinking of maybe not cheaping out and buy the whole assembly hoping that the design of the bucket solves this issue.

Also, any good choices for the reverse light bulbs and fog bulbs?

As an older driver with cataract replacement lenses I can assure you that oncoming LED headlights are blinding and distracting. Downright dangerous in some cases. It’s bad enough on a low-slung BMW. LEDs on a lifted Jeep (or truck) that weren’t adjusted correctly after the lift are the worst! Prior to my cataract surgery the fog and “flares” generated by the bright lights and cataracts would block all lanes of a normal road at night and often the shoulder’s on both sides. Dangerous to you and others if you fail to adjust after lifting.

So. This is going to open up a whole debate. A lot of folks think it is a terrible idea, and a lot of folks don't.

My take.

I run BeamTech LED bulbs in my stock halogen housings. The emitter is in the same position as the element in a halogen bulb - so it utilizes the reflector 'properly'. I then adjusted my headlights down some because well - they are brighter now and my truck has a leveling kit in the front as well. I have been flashed ONCE in a year (which is how often I get flashed in my SS Camaro with STOCK headlights). It still has a pretty clean cut off point and I can see great. So if you buy proper bulbs and double check your adjustment it will be fine.

If you have money, buy full replacement housings. That is a great option, too. I did not want to spend that money and I like the look of the plain halogen housings.

Thanks for the input! I don’t want to spend that kind of money either and I also like the look of the halogen housings. The sealite bulbs I was looking at had the diode/emitters in the 3-9 o’clock position so I think that is correct.
Thanks for replying

I've used sealights in a F150 and when swapping them i had one led installed to compare the beam pattern with the stock halogen.

It was nearly identical.

Quality aftermarket LEDs with the diode at the same location as stock halogen filaments should produce similar light patterns and not bother anyone. It's the cheaper ones with the diodes all over it that cause horrible lighting patterns that affect oncoming traffic.

Great stuff here. Last thing I want todo is start a negative debate. Just saying if you want a lift or leveling kit that’s fine. If you want LEDs, I get it. Just do the responsible thing and complete your install with a proper adjustment of the headlights. It will make life better for those coming at you as well as those you are behind.

I've been flashed a couple times in a stock Rubi w/ LEDs - usually it's late at night and there's no one around. In those cases, your eyes adjust so oncoming lights seem brighter.

No one has flashed me multiple times yet, so I can't give them the business with my 14k 7" lights. Those blind me just on the reflection off road signs.

But yes, always double check your beam levels. Just wish brodozers did, too.

I was getting flashed a lot when I also had the fog lights on automaticlly. I am also getting blinded by just new cars stock LED's, I'm thinking Lexus is one but it's hard to see after you are starring at the right side of the road trying to steer straight!

We just installed Sealite H13 LED's (from Amazon) in my wife's JT Willy's about a month ago. They made a huge difference for her at night compared to the halogens. So far, we have not been flashed once by oncoming traffic. Cut off's seem sharp. Her's is also stock (everything for now). If she does get it lifted, etc, I am sure we will have to revisit this and aim the headlights down a bit.
