I am estimating the topper price because it was all quoted together. I got the Cargo Glide installed on the same deal. Cargo Glide price was $1221, so maybe it had a discount . Anyway I checked 5 different ARE dealers within 70 miles of my house and all the rest were $400 to $800 more for same set up.
That is a fantastic set up. Looks great. Ordered the same one last week with the roof rack on it. I think the front is like that because if you have the soft top you need to be able to get in there to seat the rear window in the channel.Topper is on.

I was about to rationalize that the leer has the gap to prevent smacking the top... but the ARE gap is way better. Maybe snugtop can combine the better parts of both.

I see this post has a few months under it and maybe more has come out on toppers. I know there is a tonneau cover for the Gladiator that cross references with the Chevy Colorado. The dimensions and lines are the same . The only "off" thing is where the rear corners are more rounded on the Colorado than how the Gladiator should be or vice-versa.Somebody needs to measure a short-bed Tacoma I bet they are close-ish.
I would really prefer a custom-built old-school aluminum 'camper shell' tho - would look clunky/utilitarian/old man? Bring it on
