Will getting a non-mopar steel bumper and winch affect the warranty at all?
I can't see how it would. My Warn bumper and winch were installed at dealer prior to completing paperwork. Never heard anything to the contrary. Things like lifts over 2 inches I think have the potential if it can be linked to the presenting complaint.

Right. So Jeep sells the Mopar lifts and if installed by the dealer they don't affect the warranty. Same with the Mopar bumper and Warn winches. I'm referring to the companies that FCA doesn't have a contract with, like Smittybuilt.

Mopar/Warn combo would be about $1500-2000, compared to $1000 for a Smittybuilt bumper/winch combo

I can't say for certain, i've read and it makes sense that as long as properly installed anything 2 to 2.5 inches is okay but over 2.5 inches it changes the geometry enough to start the conversation of potentially effecting the warranty for some future drive line issues, regardless of the maker (hence Mopar is 2.5 inches only). I have never heard how a bumper and/or winch would ever be in this same category and would be an issue. Unless someone had something "CRAZY" for a bumper.

I'm building my kit up as well. so far, just a smittybilt 10k winch with synth rope, tow strap, a couple shackles, and snatch block. I was looking at those winch anchors; wow, they are pricey, but what else is new ;). I'll be building this up as budget and situations allow.

It sounds like your are more concerned about our Wisconsin winters than off-road travel. Generally a tow strap or chain will be sufficient as log as someone else is around to pull you out. I do have a winch and all that but also carry a Handle-All kit https://www.quadratec.com/products/92200_06_07.htm which includes a shovel, axe, pickaxe and sledge. The shovel is important and the rest is more for off-road stuff. I also throw a tow chain in there as well as a set of Rampage folding ramps https://www.quadratec.com/products/92200_6200.htm which are important to get out of the snow when no one else is around to help. The hovel and ramps are the key to getting out all by yourself. With a Rubicon it's pretty hard to get stuck in the snow unless you get carried away with having too much fun (been there :CWL:) and if you do get stuck you'll most likely be in there pretty good so you'll be digging and ramping to get out.
