Ask your shop to define complete. Complete is a variable based on how high you lift your Jeep. Doing spacers verses coils doesn’t change the parts you need. The height you lift is what drives the need for a new trackbar, new shocks, new control arms. At 2” (coil or spacer) you will likely notice a slight change in steering due to the change in caster. Longer front lower control arms will help resolve. With a stock trackbar at 2” you will notice a slight shift of the front tires to one side making them off center but will be minor. An adjustable trackbar will resolve. Point is that 2” definitely changes geometry but not usually enough to need all the extra parts but they will help. At 3” or more the geometry changes are more impactful and need more parts to correct. One additional note to keep in mind is if you are adding a heavy bumper and winch, spacers likely won’t help as the stock coils will be overly compressed causing the ride to be impacted. With added weight coil lifts are a much better route to go.

You can run a teraflex 1.5” leveling kit and run 35’s without issue especially if you remove the filler panels between the bumper and the fender on Sport & Sport S models. No effect on ride.

Got a surprising response from a local shop about 2-2.5" lift kits....

"...I just really don’t recommend the 2.5” kits I’m seeing because they aren’t complete suspension upgrades which will affect how the Jeep handles..."

I'm a little suprised. I'm only looking for about a 2-2.5" lift on mine to go with 35x17*12.5 wheels & rims.
I think that the salesmen at the shop is probably referring to a lot of the front end suspension upgrades a lot of companies are selling right now.

Since the JL and JT have the same exact front end, it's been easy for a lot of manufactures to start selling their front spring and control arm kits due to already having them readily available from the JL. Complete kits, containing both front and rear springs along with a full set of control arms and track bars, are probably going to start becoming more available pretty soon.

As an example, our complete kits will be available sometime in March, and will feature a 2.5" and 3.5" variant. Our 2.5" kit will look great and work best with a set of 35" tires. To get the best performance from your Jeep on and off road you need to fully adjust everything from your track bars to all eight of your control arms, so the salesmen you spoke to would be accurate in saying that a lot of the half lifts available currently would lead to less than desirable results.

Hopefully that helps clear up some of the confusion! - James
