Somewhat newbie here, is a 2.5” ready lift SST lift good for 285/75/18’s on sport s max tow? Haven’t owned a Jeep in 20 years and back then it took a 3 inch lift to fit 33’s. Any help/suggestions are much appreciated.

You can run that setup. I have the ReadyLift SST 2.5" on my Max tow with 315 70 17 BFG KO2S and I love the look and how it rides. You will be fine with that size tire. Mine are basically a 35 and I'll be going to 37's when these wear out. I also added Rubicon take off front springs and shocks as well. Here is a picture of it with just the ReadyLift and then with the Rubicon take offs installed

Just ReadyLift

that Looks awesome, just what I’m going for, did you do the kit before upgrading the bumper? Mine is stock, so I was curious about rub up front.

Bumpers front and rear came after. Here it is sitting stock with the 315 17 70 KO2s installed and then with the 2.5" ReadyLift installed. The only thing you will need to do is trim around the air dam in the front. That may or may not apply to you because I think the tire your asking about is not as tall as mine are.

Good deal, thank you for all your info/ advice. Fortunately, mine did not come with the ugly air dams and I think I have switched my mind to going with 35’s, just need to figure out what rims I will eventually go with and if they are available in the stock size (new rims don’t fit the budget At the moment). How much do your tires stick out past the fenders if you don’t mind me asking?

I have 1.75" wheel spacers on mine. I'll show you before the wheel spacers and after.

Wow, 1.75” spacers are so big, do you need them for to clear the tires or just for looks?

No I didn't need them I just wanted the extra stability and the looks. I ran 1.5" ones on my 2010 JKU for 7yrs, if they had 1.5" ones I would of gotten those but I'm pleased with the look of the 1.75 ones. They will look even better when I get 37's which I feel like will be way before the life of these tires wear out. I'm thinking in about a month or so I'm going to bite the bullet and move up

Thicker spacers required for JL/JT models due to the longer lug studs. 1.5 inch can work if the wheel has indents on the back/mounting side, but not all do.
1.75 inch keeps the studs in the hole. ;)

I get what your saying but the thickness of the wheel spacers are what gives it the width not the studs. They have a 1" wheel spacer for the JT/JL and then it jumps to 1.75", not sure why manufacturer s opted not make a 1.5" spacer for the JL or the JT.

How have the 315’s affected your gas mileage?

I get between 18.2-19 around town and local driving. Probably a mix of 70% city and 30% hwy. On long trips I can get over 20mpgs. I am happy with it. Happy enough that I regret not going 37's like I wanted to.
