On my 2023 Diesel a non responding tpms sensor put me in <40mph limp mode.

this is a problem driving around on large tires that most shops won’t work on. It there a way to disable this?

You're the only posting I've read of limp mode from a TPMS issue. It can be turned off or adjusted with Jscan, AlfaOBD, or a Tazer.

If you have JScan or AlphaOBD, I believe you can turn the entire TPMS sensor system off completely.

But, I've never heard of a TPMS sensor putting an engine in limp mode - that's usually reserved for severe air/fuel conditions. Are you sure there isn't another code or issue causing this?

Well when the sensor stoped responding I got a low tire pressure warning, a service tpms system warning and I was unable to drive faster than 40 mph

as I approached 38mph I could feel it starting to cut the throttle signal

switching to rear tires with functioning tpms sensors cleared all of these problems and it could be driven faster than 40mph

I wonder if this is something new for 2023 model's?

I wonder if disabling it on a 2023 will cause issues.

Do you have a code scanner? The "service TPMS system" warning is more than one of the sensors failing. Could be your actual sensors are fine and there is a legit issue with the main module.

It began when I took off my oem wheels / tire and installed aftermarket wheels/tires. For some reason the front tpms sensors responded but the rears did not respond. While the rears were not responding I could not go over 40mph. When I put the oem wheels/tires back the problem went away. I did have it scanned and no other codes besides the two non responding tpms sensors.

All four of my sensors on my 22 JTOD are in the stock wheels that have been sitting in my garage for the last 5k miles. Every time I get in it tells me my tires are all flat. It’s never put me in limp mode.

On a side note, when I put my 37s on it took about 25 miles for the computer to finally figure out the tpms we’re all gone before the light came on.

I would understand if you had two sensors out while in 4wd, because that could cause catastrophic damage to lots of things. But to be in 2wd which you clearly are doesn’t make much sense.

The safety features these days are ridiculous. If only there was a buzzer on the dash for every moron who drives all day with their high beams on ?

I felt like an idiot because it did not happen right away, it waited until i was a long way from home to decide it could not see the sensors so i was torquing everyone off slow rolling my jeep home. If you held the throttle down it would go up to 38 then lag up to 40 then lag off to 37 then start the cycle over.

Sitting at 4WP waiting for them to open to do balancing and see if they can force a relearn on the rear wheel sensors.

Did you put in OEM TPMS in the aftermarket wheel/tire setup?
