I like the fender flares, could be an less expensive option for damaged or faded flares.

The plain black flairs don’t really fade, a little 303 and they are back to black.

The were not expensive to do. And they were beaten up pretty bad in less than 3000 miles.

the fading would not be a issue, but the damage from the rocks is the issue, and this seems to have stopped that. so far

Any real difference between doing this with line X vs Rhino lining?

Have a Rhino lining shop here in town, they say can do. Line X shop is over an hour away.

I had my White Knuckle sliders Line-Xed. Before that. I had the front bumper of my Power Wagon Line-Xed too. Body color. After 6 yrs, it started to fade. I know of a guy who had his whole Power Wagon Line-Xed.

I have Rhino Lined most of the truck beds I have owned, but if I was to have exterior items lined, I would go with the Line -X as they have a better UV protection to protect from fading. Supposedly some of the newer Rhino Liner mixes say they have UV protection now, but that has yet to be seen IMHO.

From what I see on the newer Rhino linings it is less rubbery and better UV protection than in the past. Seems a bit thinner as well. I guess they redid their formula couple years ago.

I like the fender flares.

I’ve got the black/non-painted fenders, as well. Give it another year or two, I bet they’ll look just as stained/shitty as my old XJ fender flares. This could be a way around that.

I’ve only really washed it a couple times though, so I guess that could just be a personal problem, lol.

ReNew | LINE-X (linex.com)

This might be an option down the road, as the fading would be my concern too if you keep the truck long term. Maybe the newer line-x ultra stuff lasts longer before it fades, but in all the beds/tool boxes I've covered over the years, the black always fades. It's still durable, just not that new great black look.

Does look awesome in your pics, and I like the Line-x product a lot more than Rhino.
