Longest Continuous Drive in Your JT?

I take an annual trip from Central FL to the middle of the Adirondacks in upstate NY. This year, I had had the Gladiator for about 3 months and 3,000mi. when it was time to go. Towed a boat up and was thoroughly impressed. Fuel economy in the mountains for the last 1-2 hours always improves the overall average, which for most of the drive was around 12mpg. It was a straight drive through, leaving FL around 5pm on a Friday, arriving at the lake around 2pm Sat afternoon. Boat was an '84 Ski Nautique. Trip odometer pic is upon arriving on the leg up. Trip down was w/o the boat.

This is my first Jeep so all comments are made with that in mind. I’ve made 4 trips over the last few weeks that are roughly 4-5 hour rides down the interstate.

IMPO, it sucks as a road trip vehicle. I’d sooner put on heated gear and ride my GS (motorcycle). At least then I wouldn’t get strange looks for wearing ear plugs.

I love the vehicle but only tolerate interstate trips due to the noise. I have no issues with anything else about it.

Do you have a soft top? Otherwise look to install a headliner. It's made a difference for us.

Noise? I've taken my on a couple of drives outside of our state. One with my wife last February hauling a 100 year old engine to a friend (among other stuff and some restored car parts)
We both found it comfortable and not all that hard to hold conversations in. She never complained about it one bit other than the steering wandering (I drove to Fort Wayne, she drove back to Iowa and that was her one comment)
I'd take mine anywhere. We were even on Rubicon wheels and tires on that trip, Falken A/Ts so you can't say it was quiet because of the Overland tires.
It's not as quiet as my Silverado was - but then that was a very solid truck with thick insulated walls and roof and almost no wind noise due to the shape and curved corners.

My wife even says we're taking my truck to Colorado Springs next year for the big AMO show there.

I have the Mopar ones. They needed a little new adhesive by the dealership, but they make the cab quieter. Right now I'm running stock tires. There is also liner on the rear corners of the cab.

I left MN at 3:30am and pulled into my destination in TX at roughly 6:00pm the same day. Stopped 4 times for gas, leg stretch and back on the road. 976 miles total. Lot's of waves, no broken windshield and I could still walk when I stopped so I am chalking it up to a success. Safe Travels!

My longest (so far) has been Spokane, WA to Cedar Hill, TX, a 1900-mile jaunt. Two days, with an extended nap in WY, in the Gladiator.
I've done very nearly the same trip in my '06 SuperDuty, and a '15 Taurus Limited. The Taurus was the best, but then it's an outstanding road car. The Gladiator is actually in second place: it's a bit noisier than the Taurus, and the seats aren't quite as comfortable, but I enjoyed the drive, and wouldn't hesitate to do that (or longer) again. My range was pretty close to 400 miles/tank, cruising at 75-85 MPH most of the way.

I don't know about the Ford Taurus seats but my wife's cousin drove her little Ford "SUV" to visit last year and they wanted pizza - that Ford was blocking our vehicles so cousin Laurette said "take mine, here are the keys".
I swear I did NOT want to get out of that thing! I mean those seats fit like gloves and cradled my back SO NICELY. Good support, you didn't slide or move around. I wish I could buy those seats for the house!
But - the JT seats are a not too distant 2nd behind those. I find Jeep even thankfully improved the seats a bit in the 2021 Grand Cherokee. I hated the hard slick seats in her 2018 and I didn't like riding in it or driving it mostly because of the seats. I take all that back for the 2021. I'm fine in those and it would be a good long-distance vehicle - except for one thing.
She only drives it for her own needs, special occasions, etc. and once it reaches so many miles in a month, it SITS. We traded her 2018 in with about 13,000 miles on it - 2.5 years old.

I drive mine too and from work 2 hrs each way 2 times a month lol. Furthest I've taken so far. Was planning a Disney trip from east Texas to Florida. But thats been put on hold. But I know a trip somewhere is coming up in the near future. HOPEFULLY!!!

We offer both Hard Top Headliners and Soft Top Headliners that may be a great solution for you. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

All of the headliner options will work to an extent in regards to sound deadening and insulation. We made a Headliner Comparison Video a while back that compares some of the various Jeep Headliner options available, including our Hothead Headliners, Mopar Headliners and Boom Mat Headliners. We didn't go into much depth, we simply just wanted to show each headliner up close so the viewer can see what materials they are made of, how they're made and what they look like. We have since made several improvements to our Headliners. The addition of a Radiant Barrier layer for further insulation properties is something you can notice that has changed if you're looking at our newer product photos.
