All, hoping to benefit from the collective knowledge of this community as I look for a used Gladitor.

Found a used '21 Rubicon. Has 42k miles on no signs of harsh use. Maintenance records are good, and I have drove the vehicle. Everything seems to be in order and I am seriously considering pulling the trigger. Dealer has it listed at $34,800.

Looking for thoughts and opinions one way or the other. Thanks.

Local jeep dealer is offering 13% off invoice at the moment, meaning I could snag a 2024 willys for around 43k.

I am leaning towards to the '21 Rubicon. Any tips on negotiating with the dealer for either vehicle? I understand the rubicon still has 2 years, or 20k miles left on the powertrain warranty? Any general advice when buying a used Gladi?

Looking for thoughts and opinions one way or the other. Thanks.
do you offroad or plan on towing?

Do your local dealers have any ‘23’s left? If so, you should be able to get a smoking deal on them (20-25% off).

I recently bought a used 2022 Rubicon for $39.5K, with 12K miles, list was $59K. Dealer came down about $3K. Probably could of/should of gotten it for cheaper, but I'm a pushover. It's a manual transmission.

So maybe $30K for what you're looking at?

I think that Rubi for under $35k is a deal. 40k miles is nothing on these things. $43k is great for a Willy's, too. But I'm partial to the off-road upgrades on the Rubi.

I bought my 2023 brand new in January, for 26.5% under msrp before tt&l. At the time, there were no good used options. They were all grossly overpriced. What a difference 3 1/2 months makes. I would definitely go with the used Rubicon, if I were in your shoes.

Depends on you and your situation. Both seem like decent deals. Buy the more equipped one with some miles, and let the previous owner pay for the extras, and lack warranty except any remaining. Or spring for less equipped new, no mileage, and full warranty. The price difference is not a small gap at just over 8k. So what is more important to you? As a person who prefers new over used, I would buy the Rubi. The price, and mile difference seems worth it. I just traded a three-month-old Silverado for a 3-year-old Willys with 22k. There was nothing wrong with the Silverado except it did not excite me. I could care less, but the Willys was the right year, right color, and equipped the way I would have ordered it. And now I look back at my JT with love when I get out at work, or home.

I just bought a new 23 Rubicon to replace my 20 Sport. Worth the flight from lower Alabama to Norfolk to pick it up. Sticker - $60,490 - leather, tow, cold weather package. $15K off sticker, OTD including TTL less than $50K.

Wow, I'd have gone for that deal if I had found it and had been more patient!

Nice work! Pics?

Doesn’t seem to be a bad deal. Its just hard to think used when there are new 2023 and even some 2022 new leftovers with huge discounts.

If you plan to offroad and get upgrades like a lift, new wheels, tires, better steel bumpers, sliders etc., the Rubi is the way to go, its built for offroad, has a lot of offroad features like front/rear lockers, front sway bar disconnect, Offroad + which puts the truck in offroad mode automatically and adjust trans for slower crawling power and no sense paying for newer if your just going to replace a lot of the parts. However, I highly recommend getting the extended warranty with the older model. I had more miles on my 21 Mojave I bought last Oct. over a newer Willys cause I am building an Overlander and knew I was going to replace the entire suspension to handle all the extra weight, plastic bumpers, stock wheels, add better sliders and it has the 4.10 gear ratio which allows for 35s without having to re-gear just like the Rubicon. However, I have had several repairs that would have been costly without the extended warranty. I have replaced 3 cam lifters (engine was making a knocking noise), fixed clicking noise on all four doors when opening, replaced the driver side door handle (it stopped locking and unlocking) and the aux battery died last Sunday. If Offroading is not your thing and you plan leave it mostly stock without all the upgrades, the newer Willys may be the way to go, it is still a very capable offroader, just not the extreme stuff without some upgrades. Good Luck and welcome to tha family!!!
