Anyone running soft doors found any mirrors that work with best top soft doors. I have the Lange Coyote mirrors which I like as they work well with my rain gear top but man they don't work well with my soft doors on. Cannot see the right side mirror at all the drivers side is really difficult to see what is actually going on with that mix of convex and plastic. No way can I use this combination to drive on the freeway.

I sent the folks that make the Lange Coyotes a message asking if it was possible to make a bar that is higher but they likely would not respond to me. Maybe I need to see if someone can fab up something

I had a shop weld more aluminum onto the passenger side rod. It turned out well. I haven’t tried them yet though, as it’s getting cold in the mountains. :(

Yep that is all it would take to make these work with the soft doors

I’ll throw it on the Jeep later and take a picture, granted with hard doors, but you’ll get the idea.

I got a response back from Lange on the Mirrors. They say they no its a known issue and that a longer replacement stem would solve the problem but they have not looked into manufacturing optional replacement tubes at this time.

That is exactly what is needed
Hilariously, the welding shop mod was more expensive than the mirrors. Oh well.

It’s confirmed that they work great. This might be the last weekend until spring for soft doors in the mountains, so I had to do the swap one more time. It’s not symmetrical obviously, but they work and I can see.

Reminds me of the YJ's non-symmetrical windsheild mounted mirrors where the passenger side mirror is viewed through the windsheild and not the passenger side door.

This is how I'll try to get my Lange mirrors to work.

Due to some unseasonably warm weather, I was able to build a prototype of a view through the windshield passenger side mirror with some 3/8 tubing and copper fittings. Here's what I came up with.

Here's the view through the windshield.

I forgot to mention I have 1/2" dia aluminum stock to replace the tubing once I get it dialed in.

I also found that using the Lange mirrors made it impossible to see the passenger mirror with soft doors. I also went the route of the CJ and made the mirrors viewable via the windshield. Using the existing Lange mounts I took a 16" length of 1/2" aluminum rod, heated and bent a couple of 45 degree bends and painted the rod using black etching primer. I did have to replace the antenna with a short one to make room. Here what it looks like outside and from the driver's seat.
