I am missing the same on my 2021 Rubicon.

I've noticed that if the JT can't reach something via cell that apps are gone until it makes contact. It used to happen all the time until I pulled my truck onto the road a ways and then suddenly apps would appear.
It's not as bad after an update a few weeks ago. My apps used to rearrange themselves, too. I'd have off road pages as one of the icons on the bottom and it would disappear and the climate control would take its place. Why when I have BUTTONS on the dash for that? I'd rearrange them again and next time I started the truck and it couldn't get a cell signal, the off-road pages would disappear again and things rearrange. It's better now.

The whole system is FUBAR and full of bugs.
My favorite, "Feature," is the system coming on all by itself and playing a random audio source (usually satellite radio or CarPlay) when I open the door without turning anything on! The uConnect screen doesn't even come on.

Mine doesn't. Have you updated the uconnect, or had it checked out by the dealership?

Mine's done it since day one, but it's getting worse. The dealership hasn't been able to make it act up, so they won't touch it.
Is there some way to update the 7" uConnect?

From what I can tell, the 7” will update over the air, or with a USB/SD drive, as will the 8.4”.
And the site you linked is the place to find updates. But it just says my vehicle is up to date.

Pull the Radio Fuse (F11?) and reboot it. Make sure all the other fuses and relays are seated properly. Park the truck where cellular reception is good. If it's not back to normal in 24 hours, it will have to go to the dealer.
