Cool idea. I opted for the less logical but more expensive option of number locks linked to my cell phone for my house. 😂

I hope the house doesn't get confused with the key and start the washing machine, dishwasher or other appliances when you unlock the door.

I hate carrying keys and could not see myself carrying the Gladiator brick and my house key so I modded the fob to hold my house key.

I punched out the pin holding the flip out key and used it as a templet to cut my house key. Once the key was cut and fitting I used a roll pin in the hole and then drilled another hole just to make sure it stayed.

Okay, but I would settle for just a way to make the damn spare key that comes with the fob stay folded into the device instead of popping out in my pocket all the time. Vehicle design engineers......aren't.

Hmm, If you sell your jeep will the house be included…. :)

Possibly, if the price is right.

Here you can get this and then you can carry your jeep key with you just in case you need it.

I can't take credit for this and can't find the thread where I saw this, but take some heat shrink tubing, cut it to length, split it down the middle, surround the key and heat it. Works great!!! and I can still open the key and use it after I pull off the heat shrink. I'm sure any type of vey thin tubing would work also. You could even use medical supply tubing and then it would be a $2700 mod instead of a $0.002 mod. 🤣

Darn, why didn't I think of that! Great idea, thanks. Since it is an emergency spare mostly, can't understand why the designers didn't think of this problem. Very annoying. Thanks again for the heads-up.

I did a "fix" years ago on mine, ground the button flush on them.

I attempted to do just that but these button is hollow with the spring pressing against it underneath.

I ground mine off almost flush, now I have to push button past level to pop the key out.
