Went to KOH today and had to use 4WD with the rear locker to get through a wet dry lake bed. Afterwards the rear locker would not disengage. Tires chirp when turning corners on asphalt. I’ve read lots of posts about a sensor issue and even a Z Automotive harness solution (for a bad sensor?). Is this a mechanical or electrical issue? Both diff’s are re-geared so I’m afraid the dealership may not warranty anything. Only 15k miles. Anyone else experience similar issues?

If you have Jscan you might check with that.. or you might confirm Elec or Mech by unplugging the E-locker plug at the Diff. Its on the passenger side black plug. If the rear unlocks without electric circuit completed then I'd suspect it was Electrical.

If you have no luck I would contact the guy that did the gears.

Thanks for replies. If it happens again I’ll check the plug. This morning I started the Mojave and no locked indicator flashing. Backed out of the garage and no locker was engaged. When it was parked last night the locker was locked. I’ll see if I can test it this week.

its fine. the first couple times i used the locker it got stuck for some reason. now its lightening quick on or off as an e locker should be. The cheater to get it unstuck in a pinch is to unplug it so no electricity to hold then back up a couple feet. plug it back in and bob's your uncle. The Tazer Mini JL also has a nice feature that lets you engage it whenever and it bypasses the nanny's that are probably giving you said problems. mechanically its fine. cant recommend a Tazer enough.
