The trick is getting them to give up the name.
Well if I have to outsource through the shop, so be it........probably still cheaper then shipping to the west coast

If that’s the case, I wonder if the Fox service department will rebuild my shocks to a higher standard than they were from Mopar?
I was thinking about sending Mine to Accutune to have them work their magic in them, but heard they won’t touch them since they aren’t true ā€œFoxā€, that they were done only for Jeep and the Mojave, not sure if that true. I’ve always had real good luck with the Fox setups I’ve run on past Tacos. Seems the use sub quality seals if they are having that many leaking.

Yeah the seals are probably made in Chyna......so our expectations should not be over zealous

So my 2023 with 18k miles starts making noise and the dealer diagnosed the rear shocks are bad.

They told me that they are working just making noise.

Service manager said they got a memo stating chrysler is no longer buying products from Fox

The dealer ordered new shocks 3 weeks ago, but they are still on back order.

At this point I am open for suggestion…
you can get em rebuilt.

I just hit 18,000 miles today.

I have a full spare set the shop told me only has 3,600 miles on them. I was going to put them in my '19 JLUR, but I'm going to clean them up and sell them. Going with some Bilstein 5100s on the JLUR since they'll be a direct bolt in application.

I have a MetalCloak 4.5" Game Changer kit getting delivered this coming week.

I plan on keeping the old shocks and having them rebuilt to use as backup for when they go bad after the warranty has expired.

We will see if the parts department need to return the old part…shouldn’t need to, but you never know.

IDK if theres a good replacement for the oem no lift application. If you were going 2in lift then you got some solid ones like the B8 8100 from Bilstein.

edit: if your willing to fork over. they got these. I'm getting the 2in lift version for my franken lift when i do mine. https://www.ridefox.com/product.php...ep&model=Gladiator+JT&year=2023&position=Rear

Talked to the dealership today and found out that Jeep had canceled their order for the rear shocks.

They reordered the shocks and are checking to see if another dealer has them in stock.

Spoke with the service manager and he will call his district person tomorrow to try to get some answers.

So I contacted chrysler customer service and they said that since I was a premiums customer (my wife said that is code for ā€œgrouchy old manā€) I would be transferred to warranty service department.

Tatyana answered and said that since the dealer just ordered the parts today I will just have to wait until they come in. After explaining it to her 3 times I gave up.

I hope to have some answers from the dealer tomorrow.

Front shocks are making noise now. Ha ha

I have time to wait it out and maybe I’ll get some information to share with anyone else who has this problem in the future.

I know…First world problems

The problem is -
Was it Jeep - and why would they cancel an order
or
did the dealership actually screw up and is tossing it onto Jeep?

When I remind our sales guy how much we've spent on Jeeps in their store since about 2015, he goes back and gets the attention of the service department and tells them what good customers we are and we have some problems to talk to them about.
Sad, but money talks - shouldn't matter if you have bought 1 cheap Jeep from them or 10 top of the line vehicles.

I tend to try not to put my "regulars" ahead of a first time customer for my shop work.
One never knows what that first time person might turn into.

I totally agree wit you!

The service writer said that chrysler will see an order that is inactive for a couple weeks and cancel the order
So I’m not sure if the vehicle not being there would be a problem, the RO is still open so I would not think that would be a proble, don’t know really.

I had a great working relationship with my old dealer, partly because I’d bought so many vehicles there, partly because I had all my service work done there and I knew the tecs & service people, but that was then and this is now. A different dealership.

The service department kept my rears and fronts with they replaced them. Said they have to send any part they replace under warranty back to Jeep. Probably so they can clean them back up and stick them on someone else’s Mojave when there shit out. They showed me the price that it would cost if they weren’t under warranty and no BS, it was almost 8k, I just laughed and told them I could get a full lift, tires and tuned shocks for cheaper than that.

My fronts took 3 weeks to get, the dealership that did mine had one in stock but not both, not sure how that happened, this was about 3 weeks ago. Funny how you never see @JeepCares in any of these post. ??

For many parts they actually do root cause analysis -
"what is causing these failures?"
In the cases of parts from other sources, they may be the ones requesting the parts back from Jeep (perhaps to prove it's Jeep's fault rather than their own, whatever)

Why would they be here? they arrange communications and that sort of thing - they have zero technical abilities, no power over dealers, and certainly no power over the parts depots where dealers must get their parts from.

Go check the dealers dumpster at night. What my service writer told me. Is that most warranty parts get thrown into the dumpster. She told me that they tossed out complete axles.

I am wanting to say that the Bilstein 5160 are what the OEM is using now. I was on a trail run at EJS this year and Bilstein was on it talking about their shocks and that Jeep has gone with them for the shocks.
