Well they should still be able to warranty them since the Mojaves are still in production.

What does the extended warranty say about shocks? Are they a warranty item (covered) or a wear item (not covered)? Isn't there a list in all the paperwork about what is and is not covered?

Had my front driver's side replaced. Bad seals. It was covered under the OG 3 year/30k mile warranty. I think one of my back ones is starting to go, and I'm out of that initial warranty period.

Shocks are covered against premature failure under the 3/36 factory warranty. Beyond that, replacement is at the owners expense.

If they are outside of the 3/36 warranty, and if you like the suspension, get a cheap set of shocks or takeoffs to put on it, and send the Foxes out for rebuild. If you’ve added any weight (bumper/winch), topper/heavy rack and equipment, etc, you can get them revalved at the same time with the rebuild to help. The Mojave Fox shocks are true fox shocks and rebuildable and can be revalved.

If the extended warranty that you have covers shocks then they should be able to replace. I had one front shock replaced by the dealer under my extended Mopar Max Care warranty due to the shock leaking oil. The dealer will have to determine that the shocks have failed for the extended warranty to cover it.

Just a reminder shocks have on average* (lots of variables) roughly 50K miles.
Again there are lots that can shorten or extend that mileage, but good rule of thumb.

So my driver's side Fox shock that was replaced in April 2024 lasted... 18 months. Dealership confirmed that both that shock and the front passenger shock need to be replaced. The driver's side one is covered under the 2-year parts warranty, and the dealership took 80% off the passenger replacement (since I'm out of the initial 3 year/30k mile warranty period).

At what point does it make financial sense to just replace them with aftermarket?

To me, at no point.

They're rebuildable, and I don't think anything with a comparable ride is going to be close in price.
There are no cheap options to install as place holders though. Probably my only real complaint about my truck.

AFAIK the only bolt on options are MCs Blacks, Falcons after you replace the front shock bushings, and FOX 2.5 RRs again with a bushing replacement.

Fox charges $595, plus $25 cleaning, plus shipping, which would most likely be in the $100+ area with insurance. So youre out $720 or more and looking at a few weeks or more for turn around. If you dont use the truck in the mean time thats not a bad arrangement. If you need to keep it rolling you'll have to buy a second set or something else as mentioned above.

The cheapest option as far as I can tell would be the Falcon 2.1 SP2s, which would most likely run $1000 to your door with bushings.

Other options start above 2k.

The OE Fox's are nice for their purpose built use, but if you carry any weight in the bed, or never hit large strokes at higher speeds, there are better options. They also have the most unforgiving seals that start making truly questionable noise whenever the ambient temps stay below 50 degrees. Oil viscosity at that temp is not great either, so for me they don't ride like they cost pretty much all winter.

It just sucks to be so limited. Nothing against Fox or Jeep, just would love it for the shock manufacturers out there to remember there is a large population of JTs that they're not capitalizing on. Bushing and sleeve changes would cost them very little and increase their consumer base.

My whole plan is to use the literal absolute cheapest shocks from Amazon/Rockauto and hog the bushing out as needed to run them for a few weeks. Idk, I tend to not really make things very complicated lol.

Might not ever even rebuild them 😂
