That's enough to get me off my soft top thought for the next one right there ?
Don't get me wrong, I see the appeal in the soft top. But the soft top on the Z is $5000 and when I replace it, I wish I had a hard top, LOL.

I'm not far from you and have a 2006 Nissan 350Z convertible. The soft top on that car has a much smaller surface area to absorb heat and the A/C has a much smaller compartment to cool down. I can't imagine that the soft top on the JT/Wrangler would be better than the hard top. Not to mention, you can't add the hot head liners (or similar) to the soft top.

Another thought to consider: the AZ sun kills soft tops. I've replaced the soft top on my Z twice because of the UV/heat damage. Maybe Jeep uses better material but maybe not.

Sorry for the brief hijack.

No it’s the loaner for my Rubicon in for warranty work; fixing rust bubbles on the tailgate and all the hinges etc. I didn’t even know there was a normal and a premium soft top. How can you tell?
Regular is vinyl, Premium is more of woven cloth.
Regular looks whiteish/grayish underneath, Premium is black on the underside.

I have seen more complaints of buffeting & noise from those with the Premium tops than the Regular.
I wonder if the softer, more pliable material moves more.

FWIW my wife complains more about the sun & heat in the hard top JL than in the soft top JT.
The Hardtop seems to radiate the heat through and hold it more/longer. (no liner BTW)
Its also MUCH closer to your head.

also there are liners for the softtop.

I have a Hot Head in my soft top.

Just a couple WTF's here I need to mention and vent about:

1. The auto-dimming mirror, I need that in my 2020 Rubicon's life. Miss it from my GX460...

2. Cloth seats seem to actually hold me a little more snug, one drive in, not sure if it's more comfortable or not though...

3. And last but definitely not least, for the love of god, how the $@#% is it quieter than my hardtop, absolutely mindblown. I'm running 315/70/17 Toyo Open Country ATs and they're not loud by any means, but on phone calls it's a constant battle of volume chasing and fighting road noise externally. I'm not sure what the secret sauce is here, but I'm a little baffled and a tad salty after driving the Mojave lol.
My 2022 soft top Gladiator Rubicon is quieter than the 2017 Sahara hard top.

My Rubicon had the auto dim mirrors.

I have leather seats and they duck for back support and lower thigh support. It’s like it hits a nerve in my lower thigh and causes me leg pain.

I added a dead pedal and that helped some.
