Thanks all. This has been very helpful. I can get the lift and geometry brackets pretty cheap from a local person who is selling a used kit. That’s the only reason I would jump on it now instead of doing tires first.

Completely get this. I did the same. Bought a new in box AEV kit off marketplace, installed it a few months later (last May), then finally got wheels and tires about a month ago.

People Work?
Any difference on how it rides on the highway?
I like the 35's better, but I did some other things too, so it's a multi-piece puzzle.
Don't run the stock tires at 37 PSI.
33 is fine for them.
I run the 35s at 30 cold.

Huh? Just because Florida people have to put up with cotton topped Northerners for six months out of the year and we are Bubba Truck central, doesn't mean we don't have feelings.

Actually that truck was an actual drivable truck...in Saudi Arabia in 2014.

This is the same answer I've got after speaking with a super savvy and long term jeep owner / guru who's had and built literally over 100 jeeps over the years.
Watching this video cemented the concept for me:

Some might then ask, what about the gladiator that finished KOH a few years back:

Class limited to 35" tire, but the trucks are sky high. "Bonanza, wouldn't these race cars know more about this than you?"

And you're right. They are tall race trucks. But, part of the reason they are that tall is for the purpose of having uptravel through the fast desert sections. Ideally, without the tire limitation, a 37-40" tire would be ideal, with a concession made for uptravel in the desert.

if this was done today, i would expect the factory race offering would be equipped with Weld74 portals and a much lower lift.

Would my Mojave look silly with a 2 inch AEV lift while keeping my stock 33 inch tires? Does anyone have a pictures of this setup?
I dont think so. This is a Mojave with 2" AEV spacer lift. I did add Metalcloak Geometry correction brackets set at 3" of lift and it drives great. I think better than stock. Later I'll add 35x11.50r17 but going to wear out these tires first.

Why would you put on a lift for anything for other than tire clearance? I have a 2020 Mojave with stock suspension and Nitto 11.5X 37 tires and I can just get in it without a step. This is the optimum setup for me.

Looks (obviously subjective), frame and belly clearance.

You can fit 35's without a lift on your Mojave.

The wheel wells will look huge and the tires will look small.

With that said, run it how you want to and don't worry about public opinion, the public doesn't pay your bills.

You get much rub off-roading?

35's with no lift on a Rubi.

We are tough, gator skin tough. But when a Californian pokes fun at a Floridian, it makes us cringe. ;)

No doubt both our states have entertainment, you just have to pay for yours.
