Just got off the phone with Motobilt asking about something unrelated, thought to ask about a set of fenders and liners for the JT. Definitely is on the agenda, if we get enough people showing interest it may be sooner than later. Not just the chop kid, full on outer fenders with matching liners.

I don't have any, was from a conversation. Said could go into production Feb if interest is there. The JL front and rears will, which fit the JT, but the matching JT rears maybe not.

But based on everything else they sell I can't imagine it's going to be anything but awesome.

If they get rid of the godawful fender running lights, consider me interested.

I would think, based on the rest of their JL/JT design language in bumpers and sliders, and what they currently make for fenders on other models, that you can expect a very well made steel fender with enough angles to stand out but not enough to be crazy. It will undoubtedly come bare steel which means you can paint or powder coat however you like. 3/16th steel probably.

here's some other fenders they make

TJ for $319, I would *think* this is where they'd go with the JT, +/-

This is their JK Crusher front fender, $469. Wouldn't be surprised if it is like this but more flare, fatter.

Just for perspective...I met these guys at Bantam in 2019 and they had a Gladiator there with fenders...all their JT stuff was prototype, but almost 2 years later and they still don't have fenders???...There are a lot of manufacturers that have set the pace and quality standards. They are way behind and likely won't produce anything that is remarkable different. I am a MetalCloak guy and I think their Overland fenders are more structural than the MotoBilt ones I saw in person. I stand on my MC fenders regularly.

Can you show some pics for Overland fenders? And how much were they? Did they also come bare metal, or powder coated?

They havent released anything yet. It will not be a 'for Overland' situation, it will be for all, and it will be high arch high clearance for sure. The design and style though is up in the air.

Motobilt ships everything raw metal. A lot of the pre-coated stuff comes in from overseas and isn't coated very well. Motobilt is fully built in Alabama, they ship all their stuff bare.

Yes the Metal Cloak ones are probably still going to be the tops for structural rigidity. Me personally, I am exceedingly unlikely to need to use fenders in a structural manner so I am not too concerned about tube or not. Most are not tube.

I am also not concerned about being first or last. First isn't best, last isn't worst. The Metal Cloak ones and a bunch of others are super funky how they handle the lights. I am going to wait and see how Motobilt addresses it.

I may actually end up with metal cloaks but I'm waiting to see what these guys do

I was referring to the MetalCloak that @cgflyer was talking about. I assumed the Motobilt were not available yet. Also, I was actually talking about JTO fenders, but maybe I misunderstood the reference.

Once you take the fenders off and replace with after market the JTR vs JTM vs JTO vs JTS is irrelevant.

The Metal Cloak fenders are very sturdy, but also awkward looking imo. They're built for abuse for sure, but not really eye catchers, to me at least. The tube rails and flat steel don't really work nearty together and the lights are a total awkward after thought. I may still end up with them, but they don't win any beauty contests. I may end up with them because they are one of the other main ones that can be bought raw and painted how you like, vs coming in black powder coat. Looks wise I would prefer some body matched rubi take offs, chopped, and slim LED lighting.
