RIP... Never would have figured the way Steve partied that he would outlive his son...

The cause of death has not been revealed. This typically means that it was either something self-inflicted (on purpose or accidental), or something embarrassing like David Carradine.

Many of you kids will have no idea who originally wrote or performed this song, the story behind it, etc. but I've played this version and the original cranked in the JT - great driving music.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Country star Mac Davis, who launched his career crafting the Elvis hits “A Little Less Conversation” and “In the Ghetto,” and whose own hits include “Baby Don’t Get Hooked On Me,” has died. He was 78.

Jerry Jeff Walker, a Texas country singer and songwriter who wrote the pop song “Mr. Bojangles,” has died at age 78.

Walker died Friday of cancer, family spokesman John T. Davis told The Associated Press.

“He had battled throat cancer for many years, and some other health issues,” Davis said Saturday.

Walker emerged from New York’s Greenwich Village folk scene in the 1960s and he was a founding member of the band Circus Maximus. He moved to Texas in the 1970s and in 1972 scored a hit with his version of the Guy Clark song “L.A. Freeway.”

We're losing a lot of the people who wrote some great classics as well as songs that helped launch other artists up on the charts.

We all get our time. Glad these ones have did the most with their talents for our benefits! New ones coming up are interesting too. The pandemic is killing live performers but giving room to internet heroes. Kills me to see a homeless musician carrying their guitar. I saw a whole band set up in a homeless encampment, drum kit and all. Inspires me to watch some internet mozart banging out something I would never get the chance to hear or see live on stage. Dunno. 2020 and retirement!ent can't come soon enough so I can drive my Jeep truck around town doing unseen random acts of goodness. Somehow I went from hell raiser to happy ass hippie. Go figure! Jerry Jeff does hurt though. He was a gift during some tougher times. God bless and RIP.
