So new jeep owner and god do I love it. I bought a 22 jeep gladiator willys with 22,000 miles on it I've only had it a month and put 3,000 on it already. I just recently took it thru the car wash and when I went to look it over I noticed what looked like rust spots on the doors. I know its 3 yrs old but I feel like it shouldn't have rust already and its weird how its spotty. It is white and you can definitely see it. Is this part of the corrosion issue and do I need to take it to the dealer? Its already gone back once because the signal light fell out all the clips are broken and now we are waiting on a whole new assembly which is on back order with no eta of when they can get it. Just need some help and advice on what to do. Thanks!!

When I had my 2024 in the dealership for rust underneath the vehicle (before I traded it last year) , the service manager called whoever they talk to to adjudicate warranty claims and was told if paint wasn’t bubbling then there was no claim, or something to that effect. The dealer still sent it out to a body/paint shop and painted/treated/who knows what to the under carriage. I kept it for a few months and traded up.

Check out the thread's here for paint corrosion issue's. That should put you on the right track. Warranty covers 3 years 36000 repair.

Especially noticeable on white (light colors) is rail dust, bits of brake dust that sticks to paint and looks rusty. Various methods, clay bar, non scratch scrubbies will remove. So, if no bubbles, very well may be nothing more than rail dust.

Aren't the doors aluminum? Aluminum does not rust, it corrodes. If you see rust spots, it is something in/on the paint (like rail dust), not the door itself.

It’s due to dissimilar metals, aluminum doors and metal hinges and the fact that jeep, in their infinite wisdom bolted those steel hinges straight to the aluminum door then painted over everything. Go in get it warrantied and fixed. Mine got it, they should now be replacing the whole panel vice fixing. And they update the hinges with the TSB with a zinc shim. Sacrificial Annode. Plus a good paint shop will paint the door and handle, then bolt them together so nothing touches anyways.
