I know connectors are like puzzles, but I can’t figure this one out. I need to separate the backup camera wire from its connector so that I can pass the wire through a small waterproof wire gland, then reconnect. Any wiring gurus have experience with this type of connector? I have a full kit of terminal release tools, just don’t know how to use them here.

I think that is a coax cable, and taking the connector off will likely ruin the cable. I'm not sure, but that's how it looks.

It's looks like an optical fibre.
They are typically assembled with some very specialized tools.

Thanks for responding. I really want to use the waterproof gland, but yes, maybe a grommet is the way to go. Here’s what I’m working on after needing to relocate my backup camera:

Nevermind, I got it! Just had to carefully pry out the retainer with a tiny flathead screwdriver. For anyone else searching endlessly on how to disassemble a Fakra C female RG-174 cable connector in order to pass the backup camera cable through a smaller opening, you can do it!
