guys ,

first of all a BIG THANK for your recommendation !

I went this morning and they were able to balance 3 of 4 tires as the 4th has a small deformation (look at weight in grammes on the picture)

they put it on the back.

test done up to 120 km/h (about 75 mph) and it is perfect ! No vibration anymore.

thanks to you guys I learned something and found at least the only one on my area able to do it :like:

i dont think that machine is capable of road balancing tires, i dont see the big drum that applies the force like our hunter machine.

It will take a very good price for me to get back to bfg ko's. everyone loves them, i did not. i fought balancing them, my sailuns in the same size balance better than my bfgs at almost three times the cost.

I was close to the machine and can confirm you it could do both, my son (the young boy on the picture) knew also about road balancing and confirmed it to me. Proud of him …

at least the result is there…

Except for Mickey Thompson, that manufacturer literally states to not road force their tires.
Do you happen to have a source for this? I am now curious about a recent conversation I had with a QA Supervisor at Mickey Thomson regarding a set of the skinny Baja Boss A/T's. No mention of avoiding the Road Force balance. He actually advised that I do so and report back, which we did.

Weird, I had my warranty denied by the MT rep I called when I had a tire get chewed up abnormal wear that the store shop and were wracking our heads on as to why it was wearing so bad. When I called and thought verifying I had them roadforced would be a plus for my case. The guy yelled at me and said road force balance voids manufacturers warranty as it’s explicitly stated to not do that, due to their asymmetrical pattern. I never found any legitimate documentation to back what I was told but there are other posts here of people being told the same thing by MT reps. As far as I can tell now that I’m revisiting the issue. I think when the Baja Boss first came out there was a common issue with road balance machines that kept fuckin tires up and possibly it doesn’t do that now? Most road machines run a roller and a laser. And initially I could see the laser being confused by the tread design for some reason and giving a bad weight suggestion. But all I have personally is getting burned on 450 bucks cus MT told me to go fuck myself after I roadforced mine 2 years ago. My buddy that use to work at discount tire (tire slinger for 3 years) said it was common policy on all the stores he was in to not roadforced the Baja Boss. He also did Baja Boss on his own bronco and did not road force them either. I have 4 sets of wheels and tire for my Jeep and only the Mickeys are not roadforced because of this.

Crazy. I wonder if it was the same guy? I will try to find the email here shortly, but he was super nice to me. Had no issues getting him to warranty the one defective tire. He provided a code that I had to give to Discount Tire, and said to have them call him directly if they gave me any grief.

If you're interested in a novel, here is how my fiasco went down.......I ordered the tires (255/85r17s) from some no-name website......actually can't recall who at the moment. They came with "mounting and balancing" at a shop of our choice. I chose the closest Pep Boys, because I honestly didn't feel like doing it myself. We have an old Accuturn balancer and some ancient mounting machines in the shop. No issues reported from Pep Boys. That was back in April. Fast forward to a month ago, noticed I had a little inside wear on the fronts so I decided to check the toe. Figured I might as well throw them on the Accuturn and see what it said. The numbers were utter garbage. I'm talking more than 15oz per tire. I figured it was user error or the machine was broken. No road symptoms iI could point to. I decided I HAD to know what the numbers actually were, so I ran by a Tire Discounters (note NOT Discount Tire) and asked them to throw them on their Hunter Road Force machine. The guy told me they were "unbalanceable". Those were his exact words, lmao.

I left confused. They drove fine the previous 5k miles, but he didn't know that. But I figured he was the pro, so I fired off an email to Mickey Thomson to see about some assistance. Their guy responded in a couple days, and we had a long phone chat about it. He finally just said to take them to Discount Tire near us that they had an "agreement with". We did that, I asked the tech to write the actual Road Force numbers on the ticket, and here are the numbers they came up with.....

Not great. But a damn sight better than "unbalanceable" and "broken belts". My current guess is the guy from Tire Discounters wasn't a Raiders fan and didn't like my hat. Who the hell knows. Anywhos, I sent that to the Mickey Thomson guy and he immediately offered to warranty replace the front right tire that couldn't be balanced on the Road Force machine.

So, not only did MT advise me to use the Road Force on these tires, they required it. Then used that data specifically to give me a new spare.

All I know is that I apparently suck at using our balancer, and I am too busy enjoying driving the truck to care really. Those are my two takeaways.

Edit: This is the guy that reached out to me.
