Better pics. Notice the 2dr topless in background as well. Also option tie downs on hood. The appeal for me would be IFS (no wandering) 2.3 ecoboost with 10 speed transmission (out of Ranger has good FE and is reliable), no auto surcharge, towing should be standard over 7500lbs on all trim levels, and active safety equipment will be standard on all trim levels.

Bronco was on my list along with the Gladiator, Ranger, and Colorado. But then I determined I needed a bed to begin doing lots of landscaping at my new house, it eliminated the Bronco. Too bad Ford took so long getting it out there (and too bad Ford had such a dull product with the Ranger) otherwise I would have had a harder decision when I bought my Gladiator.

If priced right, that is going poach quite a few Wrangler sales. Looks good.

There is a group of Bronco fans having a fit they did not go with a SFA. They wanted the SFA for off road (crawling) usage and to directly challenge the Wrangler. For some, absent a SFA, they will not view the Bronco as a true challenger. I am more of an off-trail user (hunting, camping, towing boat, and everyday commuter) and I think Ford smartly choose to appeal to that crowd. When, and if, the Bronco truck comes out to challenge the JT, having the ability to beef-up the rear springs will be instrumental to me. An unforeseen weakness of the JT to me is the inability to beef up the rear suspension with stronger leaf packs and shocks to increase payload for overlanding or carrying a heavier payload.

Similar here. Owned a Full size Bronco for years and really liked it. But I wanted a bed as well and got tired of waiting. Ford has been teasing this vehicle for a decade it seems. Had hoped they would base it off the F150, the way the Full size Bronco's were. My 96 Bronco could carry almost the same amount of cargo the gladiator can, maybe a little more with the back seat removed. The drawback was the cargo being inside the vehicle, not ideal for messy or damp stuff.

Do like what I've seen of the new one though; looks like a solid tribute to the originals from the 60's.

Heck go Ford. I would never buy another piece of Ford crap in my life after 2 lemons but since I am going to be in the market for a JT in the coming months perhaps a lot of folks will ditch their JT for the Bronco filling up the slightly used market with a lot of nice JT for decent pricing.

At the end of the day I'm mostly unimpressed with the new bronco. To me its cool in that same way your friends new phone is cool. It doesn't as yet blaze any new trails or pack any really cool gear that changes any games.

Could it be a cost competitor? Perhaps but based on some recent cost recon those costs will likely climb quick. I feel like all its going to do is stall the whole segment sales wise as buyers now suffer paralysis through analysis, endless cross comparison leading to abandonment.

Now if they reimagine the ramcharger/trail duster on a full size platform and assuming gm and ford follow then we have diversity which can fuel sales.

But as it stands, the bronco feels like walking into class late with no homework.

And i should add, Big Oly is cool as all get out. But race vehicles are special and don't represent reality.

Leading to a nearly stock'ish gladiator at the hammers being far more engaging than silhouette bronco-r

It all boils down to the price...if they have it in the raptor range it will be no competition for the JT

Yeah, mirrors remained when doors were removed on my old CJ-5. It'd be nice if my JT were the same way...
Can’t break the mirrors when you’re wheelin’ if they get left at home with the doors!

It looks like the Defender, but, a lot better.... Too bad it has IFS...
Speaking of IFS and the Defender, check out the "unbelievable" articulation of this puppy. It "waves to mom" over those humps. I hope the Bronco can keep the wheels on the ground better. lol.

I don't think they would dare price it the raptor range, far to expensive especially when for that money Icon will build what ever you want.

If they have any hope of sales they need to maintain parity with the JL/JT lines elsewise there is not.
