After replacing with new axle, do it need alignment? I notice that steering wheel is off-center, about 35 degree counter-clockwise when driving straight.
Yes, if the axle is replaced, it needs be aligned. If they did not adjust the wheel is doubtful they set toe either, which is the only other thing to be adjusted. Take it back and have them finish the job. Adjusting the wheel yourself is simple to do, but takes time test driving and readjusting until you get it right. Adjusting toe to the required accuracy is not something most people can do at home. Hell, I barely trust an alignment shop to do it right.
