New Gladiator: What are your go-to accessories?

Hello everyone, this is my first Gladiator but not my first Jeep. Previously, I enjoyed a 2020 2-door Wrangler Sport. Then I got stupid and traded it in on a Maverick- nice truck, but it had a few quirks. I just picked up a Gladiator and am very happy with the decision.

Now for the fun part: getting stuff to make the Gladiator mine. What are your go-to accessories?

So far I invested in:
A Rough Country Hard Tri-Fold bed cover. I had this same kind on the Maverick and loved it. The feature that set this one apart was the ability to unlock it from either side of the truck. https://amzn.to/4e8GU79

It wasn't too bad to install; it took me a couple of hours today. One of those slow and steady installations. I did not have any start overs.

These are the go-to ones I remember from my Wrangler.

This is a storage box that straddles the gear shift area. At first, when I got this years ago, I thought it would be in the way; it proved me wrong. This is a 5-star in my book.​

This is great, but it's a pain in the butt to assemble. I don't know what Jeep was thinking, having a huge key that opens in your pocket. Don't say I did not warn you about assembly. It took me like 20 min to finally get this thing assembled; when it finally went together, it just went together without any force.​

I had the cheap ones before that you just Velcroed around the bar. This one seems to attach and hopefully will keep its shape.​

This was a problem on my 2020 Wrangler where the sun visors were fragile. I broke one. This clip solved the problem; hopefully it will on the Gladiator too.​

I would like to know your thoughts and your go-to accessories.

-Phone mount. Something that actually screws into the dash and is rock solid.

-Sunglass holder of some sort that is easily accessible with 1 hand so I can get to em while driving.

-Rear seat Molle something. Not sure if the Willys got the cool seat backs but they help out way more than anything stock.

-Door pocket replacements because nets are for birds.

-High quality USB cable(s) that can be kept in the Jeep because forgetting cables makes life harder when you have kids.

I’ve done most of these or have them on the way. Have a couple left to do. These are what I consider “accessories”. Anything that needs bolts and torque specs are hard part mods.

1. Anvil Overland Dash Bar or Bulletpoint Picatinny Rail.
Reasoning: I own a manual, and don't have enough hands. This also allows you to build up places to hold everything from your phone, to a radio mike, even a tablet. Extremely useful.

2. Cheapy Amazon Center Console storage boxes and a passenger grab handle organizer.
Reasoning: Extra places to put things. These are all over Amazon, don't cost more than 40 bucks, and come in a pack of 4 different pieces. Cheap and useful.

3. Bed Molle Panels.
Reasoning: The ability to secure things individually to the sides and back of my bed has been super helpful, especially if I'm carrying stuff over rough terrain.

4. Cordless Power Ratchet (Milwaukee, Dewalt, whatever)
Reasoning: I keep this in my rear underseat storage, along with the appropriate sized deep sockets. Always useful, if a bit pricey.

5. A 2x8, either water sealed or painted, cut to 57.75 inches.
Reasoning: When I don't need to use the entire bed, or I'm just picking things up at the store. Using the reachable part of the bed to transport things and to keep them pinned against the tailgate. Highly useful. Also, highly customizeable. They also make a metal version that you can purchase on Amazon or many off-road supplier sites. Wood do be cheaper, though. Also, you might want to cut or sand down the bottom two edges to fit better in the curved space provided.

 

[Specifically Vague]

Dead pedal. Made a huge difference in comfort while driving. I went with the one from Quadratec.

Spray in bed liner from Patriot Liner.

Rock Stopperz to protect the door hinges.

That's all I have gotten so far with more on the list.

One of my best and least expensive were the hood supports. At less than $50, they are a great add-on. Most of the other suggestions have also been added, either by the DPO or myself. I also have the Rough Country tri-fold cover, very nice. I don't use the 2x8 but a couple of sliding units that hold all my stuff and allow easy access to it. Dead pedal is a must and also the seat set back blocks. Just a little tilt is good.

Congrats on the new Gladiator!

There are a ton of great options depending on what you use the truck for, but some of the most popular upgrades we see are better lighting, bed organization/storage, auxiliary switches, recovery gear, and protection accessories.

On the lighting side, some of our Gladiator owners start with simple upgrades like brighter reverse lights, side markers, rock lights, or interior lighting before moving into larger projects like headlights, tail lights, and off-road lighting. I like the USB cable idea. I found this one that may work great. I will let everyone know my findings.
https://amzn.to/4xBg6nK. I like the idea of this one because it has a slim 90-degree connection; maybe the "media door" will still close. I have seen posts removing that door, but I would like to keep it if possible.

Replacing the door pocket is also a good idea. I had the drooping issue with my 2020 LJ. I was thinking these: https://amzn.to/4w1hfU5. I may wait until they are an issue.
